• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Just got car now knocking

Nope. The pcm won't know the difference.

i beg to differ there. l36 bottom end, headers, rockers, lightly ported heads and stock pulley on a gen 3 i had to pull one degree timing wot from 3600 to 6400 rpm to make it kr free.

ive helped a few members here tune top swaps, all needed one degree less timing too to be kr free.

You don't tune the newer cars do you? If not, who on this board does?

i cant do the 04 and 05 cars unless i have the car here. and NJ is a long way off.

older pcm's 97-03 i can tune via a off board set up i have.

overkill does the 04 up i know. not sure if zzp does or not. you'd have to check there web site. and check out intense as well. they may do 04 up.

Who cares? GM doesn't feel it's important for them to be kr free. Why would a degree or two matter? He's not racing it. He's going to get it running as reliable as GM did, and move it along the way.

Should of loosened it before you pulled the motor, you can try getting vice grips on the flexplate while the motor is on the stand and a big ass cheater bar to hopefully pop it loose. Unless you go the headstud route.. Just grab some tty felpro head bolts

How do I lock the engine to keep it from moving? The flex plate isn't installed. I have an air gun though. Do I have to use blow torch to loosen?

I have a decent IR air impact, and it really struggles to take the bolt out. Some it won't even budge. So depending on what you have, it may not move it.

It will be much easier if you put the flex plate back on and snug the bolts up. Then use vice grips on it.

large vice grips clamped to the flex thickest part at the edge where the teeth are, clamp it near the block so the engine cant turn over when you crank on the bolt.

I got it off. Ok now I ordered rocker bolts from prj but he refunded stating he doesn't sell them anymore. Where do I get some now? That's reusable
