• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Just got car now knocking

Oh ok I forgot about them. I just ordered them. Ok one last thing before I start my install. If I get the gm supercharger gasket, will I still need to get the oring? Or are they built into the gasket?

IIRC those orings should come with one of the gasket sets.

When I pulled off the old paper gasker, I think it looked like it was molded unto it. Otherwise I didn't see any other oring installed in that area

I checked it yesterday they are molded in. I got bad news from the machine shop today. One of the heads were cracked. He says the 3.8 heads are bad about cracking. Is this true? I paid him 200 to order a reconditioned head. I dont want to be tricked if its it's true. Looks like I'll be keeping the car now. Too much money spent.

They do crack between the valve seats due to the way the valve seat was installed at the factory. However, the casting is really thick in that area, and I have never seen one leak. I don't even have them magnafluxed anymore because almost every head has a crack there.

I'd just have a valve job done, the surface milled flat, and put them on.

Ok I got the heads on the block. Until I get enough money to get the tuner and 4.0 pulley and tool, can I run the car without the supercharger belt on and still run 93 octane? Would it hurt anything?

if your getting a tuner scrap the 4.0 pulley plan, you can run the stock one fine.

and yes, belt off you can run it like normal. not sure if th el67 injectors are larger or not, but you may have to run the na ones till you get the tuner.

you can run the n/a pcm with the sc belt off and the na injectors installed. then when you get to tuning it you swap the injectors and put the belt back on.

i should be selling my dhp soon, i can send you a tune with it. so at least your up and running safely to start.
