• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Just got car now knocking

There is a gasket between the rear manifold and the downpipe. It's a metal crush bent gasket. You can use copper rtv instead if you want. The gasket is a one time use only.

So I disconnected my downpipe during a rack replacement and reinstalled the gasket not knowing it was a 1 time use. I suspect a slight exhaust leak now and it sounds like that would be expected based on what you know?

Thanks for clarity on my suspicion!

That's a crush bent gasket. One time use only, or it won't seal. Similar to the way a compression fitting works under your sink. If you reused it without a leak, you either have the felpro replacement, or you are stupid lucky.

why so much timing removed? seems like a lot to pull. set to 13-14 of your knocking like mad or something. -7 is like 8º, thats weak for sure.

Oh ok I just wanted to make sure but I just cranked it up again and it's rattling or something. I might just run it back through the auction and get what I can out of it

take the sc belt off and see if the pulley has slop in it, turn the pulley back and fourth, snap it back, if it clicks its just a bad coupler. they tend to make a racket at idle when bad. like rocks in the sc horrid sound.

Where are all the grounds? I ha e a connections issue. With key on the check engine light flickers and the power train relay clicks really fast. Is the fuse box going out

tranny bolt has a stud on it, follow the neg cable if you dont see it right away. its under the cross over pipe somewhat. theres smaller grounds there as well, the wires tend to break off the eyelets sometimes, theres also a ground off the battery to the fender on the 04 up cars iirc.
