Top Swap Info and Faqs, Also lots of 3800 Info

Ok im top swappin soon wanted to know a few things.Im sure i would need injector connectors to be able to use GTP injectors how do those work do i need to splice or cut wires or is it just plug n play? and second thing is i read in some places i might need the MAP sensor extension or a wire harness thing do i need to purchase that too? Im an 01 GT btw.

No...

EV6 wasn't used in 97-03.

L67's were EV1's.

L36 were EV1 until 2001 when they switched to multec2.

So guy, you'll need injector connectors. Best to visit a yard.

You can get them all for $5.

You'll want an L67 MAP connector if you want to run the GTP bin. I'd suggest doing this anyways.

Regardless, you have to run the map sensor for your bin.

I have a 2000 GT with a 3" downpipe and PEMs, can I run a top-swap w/ standard pulley and a boxed tune without blowing it up? I will be auto crossing and Road coursing he car and want reliability. Or should I just rocker and cam my N/A with a canned tune? Thank you

Would it be wise i upgrade to 1.9 rockers or would the difference between my ERs and 1.9s not be much noticeable? And dont even say cam cuz im probably not going that route.

Would honestly probably be neglegible...Can't recall but I thought ER's were offset 1.8 and 1.88 ratio...so going to 1.9's might show up on a dyno, but I'd doubt you'd notice anything on the street.

hello everyone this is a pretty awesome thread youguys are so much help .....i have a 2000 monte carlo ss i just got the supercharger gen 3 m90 off of a regal gs 98 ...i also got throttlebody and intake manifold didnt have enough time to get the heads so right now im working with another yard to get the heads pac bracket and the tensioner pulley...my understanding is you do not have to get the harmonic balancer on my car unless you would want to drop to 3.25 pulley on supercharger...i am worried about this BBV not working properly no one has had any problems with it......and if anyone is from maryland can they tell me a guy thats a good tuner that can do it RIGHT...NEW TO THIS FORUM CAN FROM MONTE CARLO FORUM THOUGH

If you want to use the SSM90 belt system you need to buy the special SSM90 pulleys.

The smallest that is available new is now a 3.4.

The BBV has a vacuum actuator.

Do you mean the solenoid?

Find aaron, 01gpgt IIRC.

Yes the solenoid whats that look like is that the black canister.......i wasnt buying the kit from zzp was going to the yard and getting all parts for top swap ....i been reading all types of theads so very new to these chargers and computer also very very mechanical though

ok so i was offered a zzp 1.0 pcm and also a 2004 monte carlo ss s/c guage cluster....both of them out of same car....so can some one tell me how this is gonna work with top swapping my 2000 monte carlo ss...am i still gonna need a tune to get timing right and to get rid of KR ....should i get these items or should i just get mine tuned and with these items i m guessing i could get the wiring harness and hook the BBV up to the computer and have a boost gauge that works...please help me....
