Just got car now knocking



I'll probably go to the exhaust shop and have them cut a slit on the bottom hole on both manifolds. I wasn't aware the studs were supposed to be tightened all the way down. Most people say finger tight
 


Ok I see where I messed up at. The stud is stocking out past the nut on mine. I don't know how I can correct my error without other than cutting the manifolds a little. I'm sure if I take a nut off the stud will spin as well breaking my thread sealant

Yeah, you will break the sealant if you used liquid, and might end up with a leak if you move them now.

Well instead of cutting the manifolds and since it's basically the bottom studs that are sticking out, could I unscrew it out of the head? And put more thread sealer on the bolt without taking everything back apart?
