Subway's GT: Time to close my legs, it smells everywhere

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

Agreed, after going to a couple 7ths from a 6th gen....., never again, lol.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk.

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

I've never owned a 6th, rode in one for about a year, but at least for me the interior is so much more aesthetically pleasing. And much more comfortable.

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

Plus, if he keeps his roof rails, he can modify them to fit an 04+. I think it's just a matter of extending them. I'll teach ya how to fiberglass, Jared. It's simple, lol

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

He claims his next car will be a manual because then he only has to worry about a clutch.....

But logic kid thinking, cant afford a trans rebuild, but can afford to sell everything and buy another car and start all over again with problems.

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

Any decent manual is going to be a lot more than what he will get for selling everything he's got now... It's just the nature of the beast.

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

Cheaper to just fix the trans then buy a whole new car and start over again. The new car in that price range will need to have all the basic maintenance done and who know what's else

Uh no, because it's not gonna be a wimpy American car. Won't have to worry about trans, engine work isn't hard, and I don't have a dumb motor mount in the way if the oil pan needs to be replaced.

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

Bails on used car, to buy used car and says he wont have to worry about a trans...... LMAO

How often does one change a oil pan or oil pan gasket in a cars life time?

You couldnt afford a top swap, how you plan on finding a USED reliable upkept on maintenance is beyond me.

Oh ps, last I looked 10psi blows most factory motors, hows that for durability!

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

And he already has everything together for a very respectable sleeper. Just needs a trans, or even just a few small parts replaced.

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

I mean just because your trans is shot (who here is still on the original untouched transmission raise thier hand) , you start bashing the platform and American cars?
you know how many cars I've owned or serviced that are both American and foreign?
i can tell you if you want a stock car that simply drives - then you're fine either way. But the foreign cars are the first to break down and have ridiculous expensive transmissions with wave springs or engines with timing belts etc
i don't even want to get started cause something tells me you're probably just upset at the situation and taking it out on the keyboard

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

sadly ive blown both up. but om only a grand deep for both lol

get a used tranny, drop it the f in there, dont be a dork. you know whats up with this car, fix it and keep it.

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

Even if you bought a brand new car, you'll still have to get it fixed... I can't think of any reasonably priced new car that has never had a recall. It's how cars work. Thankfully... the 3800 is a tested, tried and true platform that can withstand insane amounts of abuse and keep kicking. Yours still looks good, too.

Giving up is going to cost you much more in the end, listen to those with experience. They've been through all manner of cars, and look at what they are driving right now... the same kind of car you have, with the same kinds of problems.

It's easy to get pissed off and say **** it, but look at the bigger picture. You are looking at a car, already in your driveway, with a transmission that needs some work. It may just be it needs a new solenoid, and the rest of the car is in really good shape. When one thing breaks, you don't just throw the entire car away... you fix what's broken, and keep driving. That's how owning a car works.

Me. :th_spyme: Haha!

To be fair, I rebuilt the trans in my father in laws car, and helped my brother in law swap one in his Regal, and now putting a 4th clutch hub in it. So....

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...
