Subway's GT: Time to close my legs, it smells everywhere

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In -Jared ate dick shaped candy

Finished installing the roof rails. Extremely pleased the way they turned out. Cleaning out the valley area definitely took the longest, and the passenger side was barely stuck on, and smelt of mold lol.

You installed them backwards :th_winking:

Put on my new valve seals. Much better seal this time. Also really cleaned up the heads by taking a screw driver and scraping every single crevasse to ensure no dirt is left behind.

Sitting here bored so I decided to go some minor work. At the junkyard this morning, I picked up the screws for my driver side door panel as mine didn't come with any? So I installed those and now the door is nice and tight. Looked again for a window switch but couldn't find one and don't want to pay for a new one, so I started to improvise. I took JB-Weld and hot glue and glued a thick piece of plastic to the edge. Hopefully this will work.

I totally have one. Driver's side? I just have to remember where I put it lol

Yeah, but it's all good for now. If my redneck ingenuity doesn't work, I will shoot you a PM. It's a 4 door by the way.

Alright lol I'n trying to collect the hard to find parts, and I'm just going to ship boxes of them down to the lower 48 so that they don't just get crushed up here. JYs are closing left and right and i just saw a set of 40th roof rails on a car that had been used as a foundation for a stack... so sad. lol

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In -Jared ate dick shaped candy

Hahaha, that's an easy $130 they just wasted there.

And I just installed the switch after letting it cure, and it worked beautifully. So unfortunately, I cannot buy yours.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In -Jared ate dick shaped candy

It's no problem, somebody else is probably looking for one. lol

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In -Jared ate dick shaped candy

Doing more redneck work by making own bolts. Like to hold the ICM against the head. Took some studs that had a nut near the top, but still had the stud poking through, and cut that extra top stud off, and sanded the rough part down. I also would cut a plane stud in half, and JB-Weld a nut on the end. Kablamo, homemade bolts ;).

WOO!!!! making crap work! I once used a pop can and duct tape to re-attach a muffler on a truck... made it over 100 miles. then I used the same pop can and foil tape, it's still on there after three years. lol

Haha, you gotta do whatever it takes, right?

If it doesn't break, must have been done right. lol

Re: Subway's GT: Time to say goodbye...

Trans went out yesterday, not 100% completely but it's to the point where the shifts are hard and jerky. Time for the car to go.
