its been both. the day the car actually ran it was the leaner of the two. now it wont run, and the scan tool is always showing me a rich afr.

according to the latest email from zzp, they are offering to fix and dyno tune the car. i just have to tow it up there. should i do it?

take a look at the zzpoof! pcm you have now, what do you think? I don't know personally, but I wouldnt want them messing around with my motor. They have blown way too many of them up that are SC'ed.

good point. i just kinda figured if i was there and watching them tune it, then theyd be less likely to f**k somethin up

all what? Your car isn't even running........isn't that worth $100 or whatever it is??? You wont have to tow it anywhere, etc.

i know what your saying. idk..my dad says to tow it up there and have them fix the **** and then later on down the road when i get more done to it then get the intense pcm. i wish i would have just went with them in the first place.

If you trust zzp to do it, then have them do it. Personally I don't trust them for tunes and for me an extra tune is way cheaper than a motor replacement. I just have heard too many bad things about zzp's tuning abilities. They run great but they must lean them out too much or advance timing too much because often they blow up. It is hit and miss. Some people love their tunes from them as well, but personally for me it would not be worth the risk.

if they dyno tune it then it SHOULD be good, but ive heard of their dyno tuning being ****ty as well. its just a straight up fact that you cannot put a canned tune on a car and expect it to run great. each car is drastically different from the next and you need to tune specifically for THAT car.

checked some more out today. with the key on, the noid lights are flashing. so the injectors are firing when they shouldnt be. checked plugs and they were completely fouled out. got new NGK plugs and its runs fine. very very rich, but it runs.

idk how it could be a wiring issue. i ts weird as long as the keys on its opening the solonoids in the injectors. and yes i already have a set of gtp injectos. your would be an extra set for insurance. i have no idea what they could have done to that pcm but it definately f***ed up. i havent got a chance to look at it anymore.

FIXED!!! Ignition module harness was the issue. Towed it up to zzp today, and they checked it out. I didnt route the cam/crank sensor wires right. The balancer rubbed on the loom for the crank sensor, and eventually ate through the insulation, causing a short to ground which made the computer think stuff was goin crazy. Fixed that and got a new sc belt because my parts store sold me one that was an inch too big, after that we put it on the dyno. It put out 137hp, then we found out the cat is clogged bad. So tomorrow im ordering a new downpip and taking the cat and stuff off and getting an 02 emulator since im in Ohio and dont have to pass emissions. All in all a good day.

wow, holy ****. you just cant get a break, eh? i had the crank wear through my loom too and my car kept dying while i was driving. once i figured it out i zip tied it all up and it ran well again.

they did but they were gonna charge me 100-200 to install in. they wouldnt let me do it myself while i was there even though i had a tool set with me. O well ill do it on jack stands in my garage like ive done everything else.
