No, should be steady around -18 to -20in/hg.
A cammed motor just jump around a little but only 1-3ish as it lopes.

Yeah.. 04 plus was drive by wire aka motor controller that used a variable potentiometer setup on the gas pedal. Where yours is cable driven.

DBW= drive by wire, no throttle cable. all electric.

i took a old end in with me to the store to match it up, then asked for a few scraps to make sure they fit tight. guys at advance were very cool.
if you have a advance auto by you they have the best T's i could find local, small white t's 2 per pack for 2 bucks, cant go wrong.

4 feet will be more then enough. id leave the plastic line from the under the snout to the map sensor if its ok, just change the end part with new vac line. like a inch or so.
same for the fat evap line off the front of the TB, those get hard and brittle from heat and crack. i used a fat hose long enough to loop over, then pushed another line inside the fat line to the hard line, cause the evap has a funky connector on the end of the plastic line. i didn't want to mess with it.
