the exhaust was sand blasted and painted today with some high temp RTV. decals were put on the bike a few days ago. my chain also arrived on saturday.
this weekend is the last part of the build that i need to do. the only thing left to do is to paint the gas tank and install the wideband gauge and start tuning. i need this ****er running great by june 12th, the planned milwaukee track day.
pictures will be up within a week of the finished product!

the exhaust:
the bike as it sits waiting for the chain, exhaust, and the rest of the panels to be installed:
the pipe i left silver for now, but i might not even run with it for a little bit until i get the bike running. it will be loud, but it will allow me to set up the bike so it runs a little rich with the pipe on it and correctly without it since ill probably run without it when i go to the track. more power!

Thats a nice little build you got there, but I don't know **** about bikes.... besides they have 2 wheels.

I love it, I bought it brand new in 99 for 10 grand. I don't weigh that much so it keeps up with pretty much any of the fuel injected bikes of today's age. I put a dyna electronic ignition, dyna 2 step rev limiter, carbon fiber full exhaust. Had a special dogbone fabricated for the rear because I'm a midget, put an air shifter on it hooked inline with my horn button with built in compressor and holding tank under passenger seat. It only weighs about 385lbs. You can hold the throttle wide open if you've got the balls and just push the horn button, cuts power to the coils and shifts automatically for you. More for drag racing but it's still fun.
I rolled into first gear and the wheel walked up with no clutch 450 miles on bike. Straight over backwards with chick on the back. I suggest no rookie ever buy a bike like this unless they want to die.:th_laugh-lol2:

It still rips the wheel up even with the different dogbone in the rear and the front forks dropped about an inch. It handles amazing even with it being lowered. I've had to 182mph 1 time, never again. Anything over 150mph and it gets scary. It does 70 in 1st gear on stock sprockets. I could never get back on a 600cc bike, there to small for my liking. However some of the 600cc machines nowadays are pretty damn fast. 0-60 under 3 seconds easy. It's just fun all the way around since it's such a short wheel base bike.:th_thumbsup-wink:

i have done about 160 and the cars were flying by me too fast so i let off. its no joke going that fast.
i agree about the 600s. they feel too small and 'throwable' to me so i like to run with the heavy tank-esque bikes like the one i have. in the future ill pick up another and drive that one more daily. i think by the time im done with the 1000F it's going to be useless on the street (think turbo).
