My project bike: it just got uglier.

Re: My project bike: 1994 CBR1000F

Light red risks fading and that GTYRAD or however its spelt syndrome.

Dark red would be my choice.

Re: My project bike: 1994 CBR1000F

another update:

bike is running great. got my exhaust on today. its louder than stock for sure, but not as much as i thought it would be. the problem is that the center stand used to rest on the old collector so it wouldnt go up any higher. with the new V&H exhaust it goes up higher and rubs my chain. no biggie, just need to make a little adjustment or extra bracket for it to rest on instead of rubbing the chain.

the parts i ordered are still not here, so i cant do much until then. i need to find a wideband and start playing with jet sizes to make sure im running at the right A/F ratio. ill get more pictures up when i finish painting everything. wanted to buy a heat gun this weekend to help me take the remainder of the decals off easier. they wanted $70 for one, **** that noise. ill borrow it from my uncle for the price of free. until then, it sits more.

Re: My project bike: 1994 CBR1000F

new sprocket is on, front pegs are on, and the rest of the bike is prepped for paint. hopefully if i play my cards right ill be done painting this weekend and be able to reassemble sometime next week.

i also ordered a bi-xenon HID kit today, 6000K. that should go great with the rest of the bike. pictures to come soon!

all of the HID pictures were taken at a distance of 15 ft from the wall in my garage. yes, the lights are off. the bike just lights the place up greatly.

LOW BEAMS:

HIGH BEAMS:

the HIDs are a telescopic type, so they highs just move the filament to a different position. it's kind of funny to hear them click into place when you turn them on and off, but i'll deal with it since im sure they are much brighter than the stock bulbs. once the bike is running and on the street ill take some pictures out on the road. pushing it onto the road and then back into my garage is too much work for me right now.

Re: My project bike: 1994 CBR1000F UPDATED PICTURES!!

Where is the chain?

exactly. i broke the old one (you have to break rivet link chains to take them off) to change the sprocket assuming my new chain would be in the mail shortly thereafter. i only come to find out that RK backordered the master link i want and i have to wait two weeks for it. therefore, i dont have my new chain for it yet and that's one of the main parts that im missing to get it running again.

the old one is still on it, but its just hanging there for me to feed the new one through with. ill make it easy on myself by not having to thread it through with jedi mind powers.

i have to take the header off, sand it down, and put some header paint on it. i just haven't gotten that far yet. while i have it off ill take the time to weld in a bung for the wideband. ;)

Nice looking bike, flat black was a good choice. I like older bikes too, my fav old bike is the '86 honda nighthawk 700s and i love it in red.
