This whole BBV thing has me wondering... isn't ours vacuum controlled? Or is it PCM controlled? I used to look at the boost settings in the DHP but I never changed anything.

How does it all work? And if it is PCM controlled, how will the PCM know to control the BBV on my TVS?

Holy hell and you wonder why I wouldnt let you tune anything I drive?
 
there is a bbv solenoid.

thats about it.

Whats the table even do?

The solenoid can force the BBV to open under heavy throttle, but otherwise its vacuum operated.

The solenoid can force the BBV to open under heavy throttle, but otherwise its vacuum operated.

The table can do things like set how fast boost comes on and other boost related things. I think I can even cap boost at a certain level, never touched it though.

For the last time, the scan I posted was an all out run at the track. My car almost never knocks with my current tune and it makes near 300whp. The TVS blower is leaps and bounds better and will make way more power.
 
cant cap boost, thats why ZZP made those stupid eaton boost controllers lol. Trust me only thing it does is open the BBV if you hit abuse mode, like go WOT for 2 min.

Dude... you're pretty freakin' ignorant. You're going to tell me that commanded AFR's will be actual AFR's? That almost never happens exactly...
Also you're completely underestimating how sweet the TVS is.

the solenoid is an on/off switch if i understand it correctly.

Which kinda makes those tables useless.

So if I unplug the solenoid I should see zero difference in normal driving?

Well see whos ignorant when your "sweet TVS makes less than the Gen5.

The real test would be real injectors and retune on the gen5 vs injectors and this "schaweet" TVS and a retune that would be each setup identical minus the tune and the supercharger swap.
My moneys still on the Gen5 with some real injectors and a much better tune.
I highly doubt you'll give the Gen5 the chance with better injectors and a better tune their for all this is pointless until you post TVS numbers with that setup to see what it really makes!

Dude seriously Im trying not to hate but this is nothing close to a apples to apples and I cannot comprehend not changing the injectors and tune for the gen5 setup you have.

I'll throw the 42lbers on just for you babe. I doubt it makes any difference... whats been holding me back from making more power is how much heat the blower is making. Without further modification I will not make more power. As of right now the motor gets plenty of fuel, even with the stock injectors.

Ill raise my hand becasue you car still knocks and Im not sure if you mentioned if your car is on wideband or not.

And yes it WILL make more HP with more fuel and not knocking!
 


I dont have a solenoid on my car.

The only issue is I have to have trac off all the time.

Otherwise it'll attempt to open the BBV as well as cut fuel.

Only the fuel would be cut and it'd go lean and nuke itself.

HAHA like I said not trying to hate and as for me tuning I'll get their polished Gen5 and IS3 cam is in my garage waiting HPtuners and rest of the mods to get the gen5 and cam in the 2nd engine I have come this summer after renlistment bonus shows up in july. I live in ND where I can get 87 89 91 93 110 and E85 pretty much everywhere and no one around me tunes so Ill be doing it.

Goals are 350whp with IS3 Gen5 and E85

No Meth No nitrous No IC

May add an IC tho depends on how things go. Id like to try 75 shot or more aswell.

Bought a 98 Regal GS last summer and it burned down in April so now I have a 98 GP GT plan on building the 2nd engine for it after july.

Needless to say a whole lot of mod money went up in flames replacing the regal
