JDrach's 98 Daytona - Snappin chains 4 days

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

So some guy just followed me home, he was being a jag for me just trying to pass him so i was jag back to him. Thought i was going to die lmao

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

My thoughts exactly. Then I thought " well ****, my bats in my bag in the garage." I could use my 3in exhaust pipe in the trunk lol

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I was driving around my neighborhood waiting for them to leave before I got anywhere near my house.

So my cars incredibly hard to turn the wheel left....CV Axle or pinion? Yay....

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

its rack and pinion time. boooooooooo. that sucks. in a few days to a week, it will be hard to turn to the right.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

It's actually been hard to turn left for like half a year lol. But today it was consistentlyevery time, hard to turn left.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

thats a long time. mine was like a week later hard to turn both ways. it hit the fan fast for me.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

That's what makes me wonder what the heck is indeed wrong with it, no popping or clicking, just veeeeery resistant to turning.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Get an oreillys cardone rack have fun! Racks suck to replace. Drop the rear of the cradle and take the sway bar out first. This is the ONE job id almost be willing to have a shop do they suck that bad lol.

Yes ive done them twice, to be a re re and don't forget to put new outer tie rods on while your doing it too.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Welp, looks like the car will be going to the shop lol. Does it leak anything? grease?

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

So I'm getting my rack and pinion replaced along with a power steering flush. That will be taken car of Friday. Afterwards, I want to get a few problems fixed. I have a lot of movement in my engine, so replacing upper mounts and bushings. I can't recall, but best combo is solid dog bones, and poly upper bushings from intense?

Also, my SC tensioner pulley seems to be whining and it's bouncing up and down when the cars running. Would I replace the pulley, or the entire assembly?

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

the lower mounts are bad i bet, as well as the dog bone mounts.

the tensioner, take the belt off, spin the pulley to see if it spins smooth or not, if it feels gritty, try a new pulley first.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

you leak oil? if so the motor mount could be bad already. mine was only a year and some old and shot already. the new one i drilled and filled to make it solid.
