JDrach's 98 Daytona - Snappin chains 4 days

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

eBay is just "cheaper" lol
Got my friends halo projectors in and wired up. Looks good. He gave me his black housings :th_thumb-up:

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Both look good. Just an FYI those black headlights have a smaller chrome reflector. This is why I did my own black headlights with OEM lights and I bought those exact corners.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

If doing retros didn't cost a couple hundred, for sure...only changed the housings from my stocks and the light output doesn't shine like my stock ones on these black housings...same bulbs, same wiring harnesses. Idk what it could be. The black is really growing on me though. Just hope it's not "too ghetto" lol

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Idk, not a huge fan of HIDs. They'd have to be like borderline yellow/white. Not white/blue. I usually hate when people drive towards you with blinding blue lights. And ya, maybe my friends just giving me crap cause I have a lot of aftermarket stuff on my car. Wouldn't call it trashy or ghetto, but it definitely catches a persons attention more than a stock/dirty Grand Prix

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

4300k-6000k is fine the rest look retarded
This, my 5000k are like a frost white no tint of blue or yellow.

Crap pic but you get the idea.

OOOOOOOOOH I thought you were talking about the corner piece.... That's what I've been thinking, something has to make it so the light doesn't expand like the stock ones. Since its same bulb, ect. Would adding a 4300k-6000k fix this problem or simple just change the color? I understand the light intensity is different. Are these bulbs I just get at autzone ooooor....Driving home i could tell a difference. The light shines a few feet on the ground infront of me and don't seem to beam ahead and upwards.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

As much as I hate to run HIDs in factory housings a 4300k HID kit would be an option. If you have a set of OEM lights in good condition you could pry them open and paint the smooth part black. That is what I ended up doing and I sold the ebay black headlight like what you currently have. This way my light output stayed the same as stock.

For comparison purposes. Look at the part of the headlight towards the grille area. See how the OEM runs farther. The chrome reflector is also designed differently.
