JDrach's 98 Daytona - Snappin chains 4 days

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I mean if my engine rebuild mechanic at work says its sounds normal, ZZP saying it's not a problem, and others in person saying it sounds loud but nothing to worry about then I think it should be fine. Like I said, if that's the case I'll leave it up to ZZP even though they say its not an issue. The video is poor, everything sounds super loud. Just gotta get the front cover coolant leak fixed.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Heading to ZZP next week or the 27th if they have an opening. Finally can get their shelf tune dialed in more accurately. Excited cause I haven't really "drove" the car in the longest time. Failing trans here I come *knock on wood*

Re: 98 GTP Daytona :)

Hey guys, anyone know how beneficial it is to have the alt power cable and booster as well as the fuel pump rewire kit installed? I emailed ZZP for the dyno tune next Wednesday and Tim said he'd recommend install those with the setup I have now and while it's getting tuned.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

it just keeps max voltage to your fuel pump for highest possible fuel pressure. i would do it

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I'm not trying to max anything out anymore and don't plan to mod the car any further. I just want toget a safe tune on it and drive it til it blows. I'm kind of over beating the thing. Wasn't sure if it was worth the 250$ to get it installed by them and all that

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

250 for rewire, voltage booster, and alternator cable? wtf thats dumb, its easy to install.

i would at least do alternator cable and pump rewire

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

It's 25 for the alt stuff installation, them 100$ for the fuel pump rewire plus parts. Tim recommended getting it done while my car was getting tuned but idet I'd really need that if I'm not pushing for power

Em you install it yourself... 2 bolts. C'mon son

Casper fuel pump rewire is $50ish and you take 10 mins and install that yourself too.

Don't tell me your one of those guys that would rather pay someone to do something you cod easily do.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Dude, are you serious? W's are old now, if your going to do work on it do it yourself. This "paying" is a trend thats pissing me off.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Especially for something so simple.. If it was something serious then I could somewhat understand

Not my money but it sounds like you enjoy giving ZZP your pennies

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

No not at all...never had to pay someone else to do something for my car. Besides buying new tires....I was reiterating what Tim told me what it would cost and I was wondering if they were even worth getting or if it's pretty much unnoticeable as of now....... I wouldn't want to pay them to hook up wires...

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Alllllllrighty then ill just go without. Doesn't seem like a big deal to do.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Ya I just looked at the instructions for it. Simple enough, but I'm not going to do it. Not needed.
