Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

JDrach's 98 Daytona - Snappin chains 4 days

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I used stock pushrods.

Should be able just to slide the cam in and go...can use the XP with stock everything minus valve springs...which he swapped.

Hm.

I'd help you on facebook, but...lol I left that group.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

You only need different length pushrods if you changed lifters or had the heads decked. BUT you can always test preload just to make sure.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Test preload? And that's what I read about pushrods, don't need to be changed for XP. Talked to a buddy at work and he said its noisy but doesn't think it's anything bad since the car still rides fine. I haven't gone into boost yet but will do my full synthetic change tonight and put 110 in and see how it goes?

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Well using LS7's n stock pushrods I wouldn't think that. So must be how tight or loose the rocker arms are

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

The ls7 lifters have a different preload and have to e installed differently. I think this may be the noise....

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Max Cook did the XP cam with LS7 lifters and needed a different size pushrod. Contact him to see what size he used.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I am not sure, I was only helping around 30% of the time my gf's dad worked on it (while I was in class/work, he had the week off). I'll try and ask him what he did. I'll make another video too to get better audio if I can. Like I said te car runs just fine, better than before. Not sure if it's the different preload and installment of the lifters along with the rocker arms, or just noise from stiffer springs and all that being new.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

Ya idk if it's the valvetrain being louder from different springs and the cam or what.

Re: JDrach's 98 Daytona- XP'd

I just got the notion because I talked to Paul and he said stiffer springs and a bigger cam can cause the valvetrain to be noisy. But unsure if that's my case. I'll take a listen with a stethoscope and try to get more info on it. Can't really do anything right now.
