let me start off by telling you about myself, im 17. a senior in highschool. I get pretty good grades and work about 30 hours a week. Im very responsibe. Except i made a bad choice. I was with a friend one about a week ago and we were smoking while i drove (stupid i know) and i dropped her off. As soon as i dropped her off i was at a light waiting for the green arrow. (its midnight by the way) Its one of those lights that the green arrow takes for ever, as im sitting and waiting im expecting the green arrow soon. Out of the corner of my eye i see a green light so i start going. I notice its not my arrow but the straigt lanes. I rushed and went for it as i felt that i was too far out and it was a cop that was the only car coming forward.

I get pulled over, the cop walks up to my car and says " What the **** was that!" and i explained politly my situation. He noticed something was up and asked if i smoked. I admitted it and he told me to hold on after getting my license and reg. He gives me a breathilizer and 3 tests while his backup searches my car. I took an ABC test, a touch your nose with your head back, and walk a straight line test. I know passed all tests and i didnt have any drugs. The officer issued me a citation for the turn and lets me drive home. I decided to fight the $109 ticked because of the three points that will possibly double insurance.

Do you think by me fighting it could i get rid of the points? i will bring my grades, explain how i will be in college next year and cantafford it. Also, i will admit my wrong do-ing and explain how i made a bad decision that i learnd from. Will the officer bring up me being high even though it had nothing to do with this case? he let me go so i know it wasnt a problem. Thoughts??

they might, tell them your story without the chick
tell them your extreamly sorry and it was a mistake on the light and the smoking thing i assume was a "test it out" thing if so admit to that. just be honest with them and show them respect but i would contact them 1st and try not to goto court as that cost money

straight up u wont win that. I wouldnt even chance it actually with the whole being high. Thats just another thing against u.

:th_scratchhead: Responsible...

You will loose in court.

I think you should suck it up and pay it and learn you lesson. If I was you I would ask about a civil penalty and most will grant it if you have nothing on your record. With the civil penalty it will stay off your record aslong as you don't get another ticket in so many months. You will still have to pay for it but it won't go on your record. To fight a ticket you need to prove the cop was in the wrong and you didn't need the ticket. IMO You did! You pulled out in the road and was under the influence. The cop is not in the wrong YOU are! So fighting it would be stupid.

Wait, were you smokin pot or cigs? You got that messed up after a cig that they breathalized you? lol!!!

you are sooooo dam lucky he forgave the smoking, just pay it. Do you carry full insurance on your car, because liability only insurance premiums would not go up.

Just pay it, i got in the same trouble except i got caught with a bong in my glove box. your gonna lose, and by the time you go to court, the fine will more than triple. i tried fighting my case because the cop didnt do a few things by the book. i got my paraphernalia charge dropped, and my possession dropped from a 4th degree misdemeanor to a civil charge. $25 fine, court costs over $800. Lawyer fee $750. Just pay the ticket. I dont have a problem with people who smoke pot, just dont do it in your car.

ya u are damn lucky. When i was 17 i almost got hauled off to juvi for having one pot leaf in my car. It being "risidual marijuana" i was still able to be sent to juvi.

So just man up. Hope your smarter next time. What am i hoping for, thats your own damn bad.

if you're still under 18 try to change to not guilty. you'll meet with a prosecutor and he'll cut you a deal. you only got ticketed for a moving violation right?

Why would you even consider fighting it? You where wrong and ran the red light. You where high when you did it. Be glade you have a license and a job. Most places will fire your ass when you are caught with drugs.

chances are the officer wont even show up. if it is your first offense, you can plead to the DA before you see the judge and explain to the DA that you saw green and went, since it was clear, soon to realize that the green light wasn't for you. if you want you can mention that you are a good student, and say you pay more attention now. don't mention the girl, don't mention being high, just explain that you'd rather pay the fine for a zero point ticket. if i were you the $109 would be the last of my worries, the points are what could potentially screw you.

i'm 20 and i've had my fair share of tickets. 90% of the time, they'll give you a break on the first offense. it's the rest of them that you have to be worried about.

It's plead not guilty..I made a misake up there. And yes it was a traffic violation. Can I change my plea to guilty now? I have y recieved my date in the mail
yet
