• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I lost :(

GPF Mr. President
So me and my brother and his friend were leaving the theatre's after seeing saw VI which was a horrible waste of $10, anyways. He was driving his car and I was driving mine with my brother.

He has an 05 Saab 9-3 4 cylinder turbo with a flowmaster muffler.
I have an 02 Grand Prix GT with intake and no mufflers.

We line up at a stop light and I tell him lets race for the hell of it. It was rainy out so I knew we were both gonna slip. I've raced him before and always lost because of that damn turbo. So I brake torque and ease into it and it grips but as I let more off I start to slip. As the race goes from 0-40 I was a bumper ahead of him until his turbo kicked in and give him the lead by a car at 60. I lost :(

Then he wa driving next to an SRT-8 300c and raced that from a 40 roll. The 300 jumped him but he caught up and won whic was wierd to me... :th_scratchhead:

So...you race in the rain?

What is with kids these days...one crashing on the highway...another racing in inclimate conditions...jesus.

I try not to street race anytime but sometimes I just cant help it...3 days ago I ran across a turbo integra, we did a couple of passes on each other but didnt really get to get on it much, the traffic was bad and im not much for going any more than 70 unless its on a highway which this wasnt. lol he did laugh at the first stop light tho and told me that it sounded awesome and hasnt heard a grand prix that sounded like that or that they even come in V8

sounds about rite, he beat u cause he's turboed and you're n/a. how he got a srt-8 300c i dont know. they have like 425 hp out the factory, 300c didnt know how 2 drive, but then again i could be wrong and the saab is just faster than i thought.

Yea I think the guy in the srt-8 didn't know how to race, that's just strange to get beat by a 4 cylinder even if it was turboed. Doesn't the charger come with the same srt-8 engine?

and I'm not really that stupid, there's no reason for me to go pass the speed limit especialy on wet roads. This was my first legit race in about 3 weeks I think.

No...your not wrong. It was just RAINING:th_thumb-down:

Even still...there isn't anything about "racing" an automatic V8 car...just punch it and go. Probably had Traction Control on...hit it...spun the tires...traction shut him down and he stopped...and you buddy kept going. I'm not your Mom but even racing on wet roads is a bad idea...no matter what...I'm just saying at least when I race it is f*cking dry outside.

yes it does have the same srt motor, i believe its a 6.0L hemi.

6.1 liter 425 crank hp HEMI V8.

if you have a srt-8 ur not going to romp on it in the rain or "wet roads"

No sh!t. RWD + Wet roads = fail

yea i believe the srt-8 played it smart and said hell to the no he aint gonna race on a wet surface pushing that kinda power.

saab's can be stupid fast, i think they share the motors with subaru

No...no way.

There was NEVER a Boxer motor in a Saab. The Saab is a 2.0 DOHC turbo 4 banger...just your average inline 4...not a boxer 4 like in the subaru...only thing that is ABOUT the same as the subaru...is the porsche's.

The 2006 model 9-2X was priced between US$23,710 and US$27,670. The new for 2006 DOHC turbocharged 2.5 L engine produced 230 hp (172 kW) at 5,600 rpm and 235 lb·ft (319 N·m) of torque @ 3,600 rpm. For 2006, the powertrain consisted of the following:
  • Either a 2.5 L, flat, four-cylinder engine shared with the Subaru Impreza in the formerly badged 'Linear' model, badged 2.5i, or a 2.5 L, turbocharged, flat, four-cylinder engine shared with the Impreza WRX in the 'Aero'-badged model.
  • I got this off of wikipedia, they call them Saabaru's lol

we'll all need organ donors one day lol.

and before i catch any sh!t from anybody about my racing history...
3 in my life. 2 were spur of the moment with friends that lasted all of a quarter mile on roads with no cars. the other was lined up on a 2 mile road with the end of it visible. none over 80. none in a year and a half. sure, a race is a race, but there's a smarter way to do it.

I dont know if it is or not, I didnt get my original info for that from them I heard it from a couple of different people at different times when I told themI had seen some fast saab's. They all told me the same thing.
