This is exactly what i'm talking about. My car is a POS becuase it was $350? Whats the difference between my car and a car that costs 2k, and runs exactly the same. My car was cheap because at the time it didn't run and the front bumper was torn off. So that makes it a POS even though it runs great now but has slight cosmetic issues (it's a michigan car). Now a kid with a car that costs way more then my car, but runs no better or worse, calls my car a POS.....Thats what pisses me off. So explain how my car is a junker.And how am I as bad as a rich kid. Becuase I brought the topic up? I don't go around calling everyone elses car a junker, just because its older, or damaged cosmetically. And yes I do want a cookie, because I saved myself probably 2k by buying the car I did. Now that is knowing the value of a dollar.

And if the parents helped me buy a car, it would have been a monte, lumina, malibu, or something in that price range. I'm not talking about a $10,000 vehical.

Im glad my parents didn buy my car to be honest... I wanted some Honda si originally but the gtp was all I could afford...

then when I waxed the same car I was mad I couldn't get... I fell in love with these things...

so in a sense, If my parents bought me a car, i never would have had the interest in the w-bodies like i do now...

im thankful for that!!

Watch out though, the forces are changing. If you are going commissioned, be prepared to wait about 4 years to make CPT. Also, be warned, you will not be doing a lot of actual work in your field. You will probably be writing memos, attending briefings, and doing inventories. Honestly, the best place to be in the field is defense contracting. They work on the same signal equipment as the armed forces and get paid 3-4 times more. The guys in india/pakistan/china don't know their jobs and just read off of a screen. If you've ever called tech support and they ask you if your computer is plugged in, they are just following their sheets.
 
I only read the first page but ya i see kids around here my age (Im 18) And even littler younger get crap all the time. this fruitcake in my school got a brand new bmw 5 series, and hes always showing it off. Another guy got a slightly used challenger R/T from his parents, shows off and brags about it too. I dont see any of these guys bragging about how good they can drive, i mean i have been driving for only 8 months now and luckily i can drive better than more than half of the morons on the road with there expensive cars. Hate that crap and i cant even afford a mere 12k used car, i like to work toward getting a GP GTP and i have been saving but i understand what you mean when we work hard for the stuff and they get it in a snap with no effort at all.
 


I know I done my share but How bout we all quit *****in about what we do or dont got and just be happy we live in America (even though it may be run by a bunch of air heads) and we got a chance to earn money. And we ain't gotta worry about our cars gettin bombed on the way to work or about where our next meal will come from.
 
I read the first page, this is stupid bunch of haters, I have paid for every car I have owned plus insurance and gas but I have no issue with parents buying the children's first vehicles, I plan to do that for my daughter but its all the little jealous hater kids out there that are gonna fvck up that car.

I don't think anyone in the thread has a problem with parents buying their kids nice cars. They have a problem with those kids acting cocky, and putting others down for having cheaper cars.

Exactly. I don't mind if you buy them a practical car that they take care of etc. It's the kids that go, "**** you mom and dad, I wanted the black interior in my Escalade, not the tan interior!" That piss me off.

I'm given **** all the time about my car, both by people that have the BMW's etc. and people that don't even have cars..
 


To be honest, it really doesn't bother me. I drive what I want, and big pos cars are more fun to drive. My friends and I would play bumper cars in traffic... The looks were priceless

It does not bother me parents get kids cars, just lucky people if you ask me, but they go around thinking they are all badass with their car and just shoving in peoples faces like cocky little pricks.
 
well, at my school (i live ina sh*thole so there's nothing special, it's RARE to see a student in gr12 with their own vehical, put it this way, kids eithor drive their daddy's pickups, or their rents buy them a car.... Girl i know, her parrents just bought her a 2010 Ford Mustang (WILL POST PICS NEXT WEEK) Dont get me wrong, but i went and priced the exact caro on For's webpage, and it's a 40grand car, next to my prix
 
I had to save every penny for my car, insurance, plate and I'm proud of it! Some people have to work for theyselves! (spelling intended lol) I know a lot of people who tear up their stuff because it was handed to them. Not me, sorry. :)
 


I had to pay for my car. It took all my savings and then some from my parents. The reason i even got a car is because i was taking college courses and i have a job. All im gonna say is that my generation wont appreciate anything untill they have to pay for it themselves. and as for the cockyness, theyre just immature spoiled brats. this kid i know thought he was hot **** with a 08 dodge charger. he rev'ed his engine once at a local car show and got the thing inpounded. serves his ass right.
