Chef's "KILLER" Twin Ladies

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

Trans. is still holding. Brake job and install camber bolts this weekend. Alignment on Tues. and should be done until next month! :)

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

I can +1 the Triple Edge transaxle idea, when the time comes...
Only thing inconvenient is you'll want to plan that ahead of time, as he's had mine for almost 3 months now.
Busy guy.

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

Camber bolts in, and exhaust/vacuum leak might finally be solved! Replaced the C-clamp on the first exhaust joint (the one just past the CAT) with a band clamp. Car SEEMS to be running and idling smoother, and the LTFTs aren't jumping around like before. Only time will tell.

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

Man, what a difference a little exhaust leak makes! MPGs are going up, LTFTs are hovering right around 2, smooth acceleration now throughout the entire gas pedal range. I learned my lesson, band clamps on everything now!!! lol :)

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

Nice Grand Prix man. That's a pretty mean setup for being NA and it reminds me of when I was NA too. Sad to see how much trouble you've had lately. Sadly, the only way to make much power from these engines is with boost, but I see you're looking for a CSC kit someday. They're hard to find, but you can find them. It's a rare thing, but I try to keep track of us CSC guys and every once in a great blue moon you find a kit for sale.

Good luck with your build. It's a lotta fun.

Oh man, reading your sig. is like looking into my future (hopefully) lol

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

UPDATE: After talking to Will @ Overkill, I had him retune my old PCM. Installed it last Monday along with my ported TB. After a minor glitch (was running hella lean due to the MAF on the TB being faulty) all the trims are back in line again. Notice a little better throttle response, but really notice the change in trans. performance.
Before the retune, my tranny had been overheating on trips longer than thirty miles or 20 min. in traffic. It started slipping at 180* then 170* and 10 days ago at 160*. I have driven with the new tune for six days and haven't seen the trans. temp go above 176*. Also haven't felt a single slip. Whatever he does with the shift settings, it freakin works!! (at least in my case) Also have to give Will credit for the quick turnaround time. Had the PCM back 12 days after shipping it!!

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

thats I first I heard hiom being quick on shipping lol, I have dealt with him twice for in-car tunes so luckily I dont have to wait lols, gonna go with him again once the topswap is done, his in-car tunes are night/day difference.

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

Still running fine as wine. had a little problem with fuel trims for a couple of days, but they have worked themselves out. New brakes on front, rears looked so good I didn't touch them :) Also replaced worn outer tie rod. My "Slick" L26 heads should be shipping this week

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

Block, crank, rods, and heads are here. Next up, LIM and pistons. Frankengine (Frankenstein engine lol) parts are coming together!!

Re: Chef's "KILLER" L36

It's been awhile since my last post. I have been enjoying the summer driving Shelly. Just bought a companion for her last week. 2002 GP SE with possible head gasket issues. But, the tires are new and the rest of the car seems to be solid. I consider it a steal for $400. 137K on it and the trans. feels better than Shelly's! Pics. will be posted soon :)
