Brando's All New Cruze

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

75,000 BTU Torpedo with a 5 gallon kerosene tank on it.

A friend of mine has a 75,000 btu torpedo. Those things rock. We used it outside just for taking a break from working in the cold. You went from freezing, to too warm in 5 minutes. With my coat open, sitting in front of it, it was on par with sitting in a hot tub.

pretty sure the blower motor is fine. resistor is bad but it's on the back burner. bad resistor you will still have full high heat. research suggests I have a bad ignition switch.

Mine intermittently wouldn't work on all positions. I was about to replace the ignition witch until it fixed itself. Of course proper diagnosing is always recommended.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

it fixed itself, you say?

and i'm trying. got a buddy pulling a diagram and such. it goes switch>fuse>resistor>motor. i just wish someone would confirm rather or not the resistor can shut down the entire motor. i was under the impression it could only kill the first four fan speeds

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

I think it completely bypasses the resistor if it is at 5. Could always get a test light hooked up to the fuse for the blower motor, and see if the light ever goes out with the key on. You know its the switch if it does.

Re: The "Other" Blue GTP

Just tested it. Thanks to Matt we got the diagrams. Power is in fact getting to the resistor but it stops there. Even on high fan speed it is NOT getting power to the blower motor. Yay bad resistor. Dan, what you doing in the coming days :)

Re: The "Other" Blue GTP

Big thank you to Dan! Stopped by his toasty garage and swapped in the new resistor in under 20 minutes. Have nice working heat again :)

Re: The "Other" Blue GTP

Been doing a lot of thinking and I am probably going to be making the transition to another vehicle. Gonna roll the prix for a while until I'm ready to get another car, but come spring she's getting a partial demod. Gonna lose the intercooler, fuel rails, injectors, and some other odds and ends. Pulley up, retune. I love the car but I feel so weighed down with it needing a tranny and the wire tuck/fuse box location has always been the achilles heel for me.
