Brando's All New Cruze

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

eh. yes and no. I put the valve cover breather back on, didn't make a whole lot of difference but maybe a little. it sorta mellowed down. i've chocked it up to just be a cammed 3800.
plus, the blower by itself is making all KINDS of noises. it's sooo shot.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

That blower has over 200K so I'm not suprised there. I have a few gen 3 laying around if you need one.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

i think so. the coupler is on its way out, but it's not the sole source of this noise. here let me show u the vid..

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

sounds like a plan, pm me when it ever you change cams. my car has other issues to fix anyways so hopefully I can fix them by then.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

So I haven't updated in a little while...

Car is doing okay I suppose. 1 year later and I feel like I'm so far away from just being able to have fun with it.

Recently I swapped out my throttle body for Dan's, which conveniently had the pcv tapped and all ready to go. So instead of running the valve cover breather Josh and I installed a functional pcv. Eventually I plan on either tapping the side of the filler neck OR upgrading intercoolers. Who knows. Think I mentioned it earlier in the thread but here's a pic:

Then I thought since I just installed new axles why not go ahead and replace the front struts and get her back to stock height and all will be gravy. So I ordered these

Then Dan and I installed these two quick struts one day and holy unsettled springs...

That was the day of. They've settled in nicely since then... and this ^^^ is that *****'s bike who I parked too close to once.

So I had already been shopping for tires, went ahead and bought them and thought I'd wait another pay period and do the tires and alignment all at once.

Well the powers that be did not like that plan so last Friday I come out to this on my lunch break...

That was a really rough day. Took the boss' Infiniti to Arby's, ate, came back and went to put the spare on. Of course the little donut doesn't fit over the f-body brakes so I actually changed two tires. 20 minutes btw.

So with that little setback I decided to go ahead and install new tires. Went today and had them mounted/balanced and the wheels aligned. Very pleased with the results. :)

Somewhere along this little timeline I realized my tranny mount is absolutely destroyed. Motor mounts are next on the list. Rear struts. Couple other odds and ends.

She's pretty much ready for winter, got the 300m waiting for a spring rebuild. She's coming along :)

Re: The "Other" Blue GTP

Lovely. So last winter the heat (blower motor) stopped working once and came right back. Didn't think a whole lot of it. I know the resistor is bad, heat only works on High (5).

Mind you we're less than a week into winter, I leave for home at lunch today, heat dies within a couple minutes of the drive. Leave for work, magically working again, but dies yet again a few mins into the trip. So sick of this car.. :( I want a new car

I suppose it needs an ignition switch from what I am reading. Yay $75 out the window. And it's too cold to do all that I"m just sayin

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

The excuse it's too cold is never valid. I happen to have a large heater to heat my garage, that melts your shoes. You're welcome to come over anytime to wrench in my garage.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

well Dan it's looking like I may to need to replace the ignition switch. I appreciate the open invite as always :D

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Looks like I have a new place to fall back on when I need to work on my car in the winter.

Honestly, if you want to drive over here, I'd be more than willing to help. I've got plenty of tools, two stall garage, air compressor, 2 impact wrenches, and a massive heater.

I've done a blower motor and resistor as well. Can be had pretty cheap off rockauto. If you want to get the three parts, come on over. We'll get 'er done.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

How many btu's? I have a 50,000 btu torpedo, useless outside unfortunately. And I think that long drive is a bit much for me to work on my car lol

pretty sure the blower motor is fine. resistor is bad but it's on the back burner. bad resistor you will still have full high heat. research suggests I have a bad ignition switch.
