Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

That sir is a $200 profit. :) However, you could get more I think. Might have to hold out, but you could get more.

Nice pic of me lol. I had a lot of fun with you two today. Never a dull moment when the GP dinguses get together

I dont think I'm going to sell it. For only $55, I think it's definitely worth putting on my car with the Rocker setup.

PCV setup for a Gen V swap is (doesn't matter if it's an L32 or L67 LIM)

Front is already functional, no need to mess with it.

Rear needs a source of air. Drill the brass plug out of the bottom of the L67 TB. Either tap it to the threads of your fitting, or do as I did, and use Quik Steel. Run a vacuum line from the newly mounted fitting on the bottom of the TB to the rear PCV port on the Gen V. (upward facing 3/8 nipple)

Also, I found it much easier to just use the Gen V evap as opposed to using the Gen 3 and having to block the Gen V port for it.

I've also been told you can tap into the Valve cover then run a vacuum line to the intake for fresh air. Is that possible?

3.4 pully, gen V, and a solid tune, mabe this beautiful car will actually win a race.

3.4, Gen V, solid tune, and if you havent read earlier in the thread, I also have 1.84 Yella Terra rockers with 90# valve springs to go with. Should be a solid build.

Yea it sucked pretty hard core... But at least Dan got his GenV..

And brandon got his trunk carpet. You're the only one that left empty handed. :(

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

If it was me I'll bring everything with you and figure out a way to get that seat out.. Maybe a ratchet style wrench to get to the bolts or a small socket.

To get to the bolts was impossible. Trust us, we tried. The only way would be to cut it out, or find a way to get a power source too it.

AND a radio. Which I did install today and it made a HUGE difference, however, it's a pos. the volume knob is all jacked up, the rest of the buttons barely work. it's going back. $28 back in my pocket :)

Told you to take it back 5.56754357 seconds after you bought it.

Well that kinda sucks to hear. :(

Let me know if you see any other vehicles we can tear into!

I'll look for the alt bracket but I don't think I have an alternator. No equalizer radio

I heard you might be alright if your not intercooled. Not sure though. Let me know if you at least have a bracket, well worry about getting the alternator later if need be. Maybe I'll say mine went bad and bring it AutoZone and get a new 99+ alternator for free.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

Why didn't yall just pull the battery out of your personal car and put it in the JY car just to power up the seat? Don't need a key for that.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

You shouldn't need the 99+ Alt bracket to do the Gen V swap. It only becomes an issue when going IC as it causes clearance issues for the rear IC core fitting.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up.

Did you see my other post? Anyways I'll say it again, I've been told you can run a vac line from the valve cover to the intake tubing, instead of tapping into your throttle body. Does that actually work?
