Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

Ya it turned out pretty nice, just a little bit of time. I can't go that long without mine. Good for a spare tho.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

I plan on buying a used blower and working away at it after work. I need my car everyday.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

Not my blower, I found this pic on google. I plan on making up a plate like this at work sometime by the summer. I'm gonna EDM wire cut it. I think it would be safer then quick steel but more work, and I know not everyone has access to a wire machine.

That's way over ported...

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

here are my pics of my recent blower modifaction. egr divot filled in, ported inlet to 75mm and filled and ported outlet

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

Yeah I used the stuff you mix together.

Pain in the ass to make look good but it worked. You notice a big difference with the ports closed?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

my exhaust is so loud, i dont really ever hear the blower. im sure you can hear it from the outside. i hear it whine some under moderate acceleration, i didnt before.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

So I believe I'll install the Gen V with the stock pulley before I do my rocker install. I have the majority of the parts, so why not?

Instead of making a thread, I'll just post here. A few questions;

1: This is on the back of the Gen V. I havent looked closely to my Gen 3, but I believe it doesn't have this. What do I do with this, block it was an EGR plate? Since I believe this is for the EGR.

2: For the Throttle Body gasket (Kind of a dumb question) Would I need two gaskets? One for the Gen V to Adapter then another from the adapter to Throttle Body?

3: Parts needed for install; Gen V and LIM/Bolts obviously, Gen V to L67 Throttle Body Adapter Plate, Coolant to fill the LIM, New oil for an oil change afterwards, Already replaced the coupler for the Gen V, new blower oil, 1/8 NPT Tap for the PCV setup on Throttle body, EGR block-off plate for Gen V LIM. Other than that, I believe it's basically bolt off and bolt on the new. Direct swap. Anything I'm missing? And I will be using just copper RTV for the blower since an L32 blower gasket is stupid expensive.

Just thought I'd ask before, if I'm missing anything before the install. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

if the lim's coolant ports are sealed i dont see why you can just use rtv on the tb and adapter plate.

sounds like you got it all covered. not sure what that open hole is for. never seen it addressed before. :th_scratchhead:

The LIM's coolant ports aren't sealed and I don't plan on sealing them at the time since I'm not Intercooled.

As I'm looking at pictures I'm pretty confident that hole is for the EGR on an L32 engine. Since I have no EGR or EVAP for that matter, I believe I would just block it with an EGR plate? I don't know.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With Gen V.

Without looking at pics I'm pretty sure that's for the evap not the EGR.

Yes, actually are right. It is for the EVAP.

Just making sure you saw this.
Its under custom work you have to do.

I did see that. My EVAP codes have been deleted, but it says either block it with the intake EGR block-off plate OR delete the codes. Hmmmm.

Pretty sure it has a vacuum draw on it just like the L67 one on the TB. You will have to block it.
