Dont know if this helps but the same issue happenend to my car but it was the 97 altenator bracket that was the problem switched to a 99+ with aluminium elbows and never had a issue since
Im probably wrong but your motor mount isn't leaking is it? I know they have fluid unless you got solid mounts, because that looks to be where it mounts to or near.
When my lower elbow went, coolant ended up in that motor mount area.
also condiser taking a look at the #9 pulley. the bottom bolt that holds it in goes into a coolant passage. that could be leaking too
Yes im referring to the elbow it was a bad leak me replacing it to a 99+ alt bracket w/2 elbows was a must.. It dripped on the motor mounts the same way i see in your pictures
Timing covers can leak too. Doesn't happen often but I've seen it. I'd say pressure test it, at 16 psi it should leak real good and you should find it.
The temp should stay okay until at least 10 minutes after the thermostat has been opened if the cooling system is just low.
Exactly it does but mines just started leaking badly... Idk why and it caused problems high coolant temperatures its Better now and no not not none laying around now lolDon't '97s have a rear coolant elbow that goes into the head, or something like that?
I know it's different than the other years. Didn't know you could change the placement of the rear coolant elbow.
Happen to have a '99+ Alternator Bracket laying around? lol
I have a spare 99+ bracket laying around. I'd swap the water pump and elbow and rtv the bottom elbow where it goes into the timing cover.
You'll have to swap your alternator.
You'll have to swap your alternator.
This.
the 97's are different and the alt bracket uses 2 elbows i would get 2 aluminium ones.. They can be had pretty cheap at autozone
You only have one right now 97 have the one that just goes from the bracket to the limMy car now had aluminum coolant elbows. Well, one actually.
The rear one, is still plastic I think.
And... I don't really feel like buying a new alternator.
