Re: 1997 Black GTP, Low(er) Is Finally In The Future.

Should work fine, if they're made to bolt into an FBody they'll bolt in same as any other fbody calipers

Kinda what I was assuming, just wanted to check with GPF world for insight, and if anyone has used them before. Wouldnt want to get half way through this brake job and come to find out, the calipers won't fit for some stupid aftermarket reason.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Low(er) Is Finally In The Future.

To avoid damage that could void your warranty, thread banjo bolts and bleeder screws in by hand then torque to manufacturer specs. Torque specs noted on tag included with caliper.
guess that explains why the bolts on my fbodies are stripped. :th_angry2:

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Low(er) Is Finally In The Future.

Got the rear lowering springs from Brandon the other day. Just need to purchase new struts, and this car will FINALLY be lowered.

I did officially make up my mind, I will be going with 05-09 (same as 99-04) Mustang Saleen Rims. Should fit just fine, as they are 114.3x5, 18x9, +30 offset with a center bore of 70.8mm. Can get them all 4 shipped off American Muscle for $700 flat. Not too bad. Really want 19's but the price difference in rims/tires is just not worth it. Looks like they will be coming sooner than expected. Since winter is coming soon, i'll be removing my Comp-G rims and will sell them. They are in decent shape with Pirelli tires on them (80,000 mile warranty) and have no more than 20,000 miles on them. Should get a decent amount of money for the set. With the couple hundred I have saved up + selling my old rims/tires I should be making the purchase soon.

Just been browsing for some decent 245/45-18 tires. Not trying to spend much more than $500 on tires, so any ideas would be great. Keep in mind, then tires would only be ran in the warmer months, will never see snow.

Now just envision those rims, on my car with the pic in my sig. Should look A-m-a-z-i-n-g. I love the looks of simple 5-spoke rims and I think they will go perfectly with my ride.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Low(er) Is Finally In The Future.

Gave the car one last wax with the buffer before the ol' girl faces another Michigan winter.

And this is why I love my GP. Looks good, fast, and a true definition of a "baby hauler"

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Low(er) Is Finally In The Future.

Could you get a 10" sub with either a real small box, or the very thin boxes that push up against the side of the trunk?

If there's a will, there's a way.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Low(er) Is Finally In The Future.

December 11 is the due date.

But could be really anytime in November though. The lady will be 35 weeks pregnant on Thursday.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Low(er) Is Finally In The Future.

I was nervous for all three of my kids. You'll make a good dad.

I have been contemplating the idea of putting some 6.5inch subs in the rear deck. Sundown or JVC makes 6.5 subs. They should in theory...drop on in. Not trying to add the weight of a 12" sub either.

They most likely won't drop in cause of the magnet size. And I dmd you on Instagram
