Brando's All New Cruze

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Lol yeah. I think the blade is sticking personally when I took my vans tb appart I didnt set the blade right and noticed it wouldn't close all the way and had a slight high idle so thats why im thinking that

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

well i've already took the tb apart once. i was not able to get the screws out of the plate and they're sort of stripped so i think i need to drill those out lol

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

chanes of finding one ported exactly the same... 0 lol

sooo. yeah idk. i might try to take it apart again and see what's going on. and I don't wanna speak too soon but I put a regular oil cap back on it after re-installing the pcv valve annnnnnd it seems to be working :)

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

You can always try swapping throttle bodies with Josh or me and take the car for a drive and see if that fixes the issues.

Nah that won't work... #1. We have 97 TBs. #2. He has a ported TB so his tune has a MAF tune for that.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

although... the port job is rather light. so idk how much it would change things. thoughts?

I really don't know much about tuning. But if you can find a 98+ throttle body to switch with, even if the car idles wacky from the ported tune, you still might be able to tell if the throttle is "sticky"

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Well I apologize for not knowing.

I'm just thinking out loud. Trying to help Brando out with my limited knowledge.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

yeah idk. also p0507. one of the fixes is the pcv valve. so im gonna take the oil cap off and see if the idle drops. because we did do the oil cap and throttle cable at the same time.

and i really wanna get that exhaust clamped up. Dan what ya doin this weekend? maybe we oughta heat up the garage and get under neath it.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

I think buying this car and selling the blue car was a bad idea, it seems like you bought a car that has nothing but problems.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

THIS!!!!!! I miss that blue car like nobody's business.

BUT. I don't wanna say anything negative, I bought it, I made the bed, gotta lay in it. Hopefully after I work the kinks out, I'll love it as much as I did a couple years ago

So with that being said, this morning rear right tire was dang near flat I'm thinking dear God.. do you intentionally curse every vehicle I own just to watch me squirm!?
It wouldn't even read on the tire gauge lol. So off I go to the gas station. It's single digits out, I put my little quarters in, it fires up, no air. Read a sign that says may need to heat the nozzle (moisture in the hose or whatevs). So I hold it under the heat in the car. Got a smidgen of air flow and thought what the hell so I put air in and it kicked off. I made it to 10psi. I'm already runnin late for work I'm like well that's gonna have to be good enough, didn't have any more quarters. Got home and finished airing it up so we'll see how that holds.
Um, I did take the oil cap off and the idles did drop some, so guess the stock pcv valve isn't working. Which with the intercooler I wasn't sure anyway. So whatever. Back to the filter cap.
Still idling high so I'm gonna get another throttle body and try it out. Tired of jackin with it. Gonna throw off the tune but, given the tranny's condition I won't need it lol

Thanks for watching today's episode :)

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

If i get around to cleaning out the garage a little this weekend I'll see if I still have a 99+ tb or not.
