Brando's All New Cruze

Re: Brand's slow car

That sounds like a lot of unnecessary work. Slam it. Don't complain about the ride and be done with it.

Re: Brand's slow car

F It bag it with some switches. You can then have it sit on the floor when parked then raise when you start it. Then throw some 13 wires and skinny tires kidding on the rims and tires. But not joking about the air suspension.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

So just an update. Been trying to iron out some of the issues with the car recently.

Needed a new battery, got that done. Still didn't solve electrical issue (volts drop at idle) but no more dead battery in the morning. So that's still in the works.
Axles are spewing grease because lowered, which causes the belt to squeal, it's really annoying.
Exterior temp sensor reads wrong, see below for results.
The intercooler pump has been off and on working, dug into that issue today and it appears the harness has corroded away, the power wire literally just fell right out of it.
Here's a crap pic for your viewing pleasure.

But in good news, the car got an oil change today, added the windshield washer reservoir/pump back to it, changed the outside temp sensor (which changed nothing) and diagnosed the ic pump.
Still need to iron out the electric issue, gonna replace that harness this week for the pump, and any ideas on why the exterior temp sensor is WAY off? Sitting in a cold garage it's 21* and it said 74*.

And as soon as I can sell these racing seats I am going to buy some struts/springs for the front and it WILL be going back to stock height. Axles are pissed, lowering is cool but meh. Doesn't turn me on enough to continue with it. So once it's back up to stock height I'll replace those axles.

Long term goals for this year:
Hood Repair
Tranny Rebuild
New Tires
Suspension Upgrades

All I can think of for now... feel free to give ideas. Will try to get some pics in the snow one day it's niceish.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

I have one idea for you. Keep it "lowered", put some Vinnie spacers and replace the axles and be done with it.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

What my plan was. Is I would buy a rebuilder tranny than rebuild it then install it myself. As far as you ride height is concerned stock is best but thats my .02

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Just Replace your axles and get some Vinnie spacers and leave it lowered. Plenty of us run spacers without any further axle problems. Leaving it the stock 4x4 status doesn't do this car any justice.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

C/o's in the front ssc's in the back, with the v spacers of course. Perfect ride height and way better handling.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

the messed up outside temp is your ac control module. you have auto air right? replace it. happens to my car. module fixed it. get a junk yard unit. I have the dimming at idle too. I think its a mix between worn out key switch contacts and worn alternator. I got a voltage booster. I will report back when my car is running to see if that helps

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

No I don't have the auto one. I have the manual dual sliders it's an 02 remember. The dimming idk... I even put a volt booster on it. I hope it's just the alternator.

And idk about the lowered thing. It's a pita, the rear isn't even done, not impressed with the ride quality. I'm just not sure lowered is for me.

Re: The "Other" Blue GTP

So thanks to Corey mentioning this, before I started blaming the alternator I wanted to make sure everything was fixed. So today I replaced the battery terminal bolt for the ground side. As you can see it was severely stripped.
I know the pic sucks, sorry.

Tomorrow we'll find out if it makes a difference. And I did pick up an intercooler pump harness so I'll try to tackle that tomorrow night :)
