ZZP throttle body turndown?

We all know TB spacers are useless for most people, but does the ZZP turndown have any negative effects? Right now my 9" cone is clamped directly to the MAF. I don't plan on ever getting an intercooler, but I like how the turndown looked on Smuts' car and it would put my intake closer to cooler are at the fender wall. I wouldn't bother if it'll reduce the flow too much though.

Ever considered using PVC? I can only think with the added bit for the MAF it might be too long and hit things depending on the bend. Plus depending on the couper you get it can look kinda weird.

Nah, going to try to stay away from PVC on this car... for now. And yeah, adding a bend between the MAF and filter looks odd to me. Sticks out too far then turns and stick out some more. At that point I'd just got full CAI

Maybe you can find a peice of pipe bent at like whatever desired angle you need. You know like those chromed up ones you see people have. Probably kinda expensive but looks better than PVC.

The turndown is only 72mm (aprox) ID. so the turn down is a restriction for your throttle body.

its 75mm but its effectively 70 with the way the blade and airshelf is designed to allow for small airflow correction via the stepper motor.

welcome to the compromise of not having a pintle type IAC and a 3$ cable....

The inlet turn down is approx. 70mm.

Turbocharged400sbc Where did the effective 70mm come from? Is that your guess or is that from some where?

I measured it before and it is 70mm. No way the stock
TB is effective 70mm. That is almost 15 percent smaller than 75mm.

well to start there is a 10 millimeter thick shaft running through the middle of the smallest part of the bore...
then onthe DBW there is also the airflow shelf that is riveted to the blade so that at throttle openings less than 15 pct, only one half of the throttle blade is effectively changing the airflow volume.
even then it does not allow for very fine changes in idle control...it works well enough though
