Yankees suck

lmao... i guess they bought the other 26 too? phillies had their shine last year, let the yanks have it this year. they are both excellent teams.

Not being from the us this is going to be an interesting thread

so just to stir things up can you explain to me who is the better team and why?

for the record the yankees bought that series. that was the most disgusting display in favor of a salary cap for baseball

Yankees ftw!

I grew up watching the Yankees and I love them. Everyone else seems to hate them so it's another reason why I like them. People seem to hate them because of their success. If you win 27 WS titles, people are going to hate you. The yankees had a very solid team this year. It will be interesting to see what happens this off season.

The Yankees are. Why? Because they won. If the Phillies had won, I would say the Phillies were the better team

Baseball needs a salary cap

being from philly ill tell you this..

the yankee's didnt win the world series, they bought it

agreed. need a salary cap, and yes they basically did buy this world series and any of the WS the last 15 years at least. It would be in baseballs best interest to implement something. You can thank the YES network for their extra income each year to buy all of these players.

Yeah, the Yanks spend more than anyone else. Yeah, they do everything they can to buy Championships and sign the cream of the FA crop every year. Yup. They suck.

But. They do seem to know what they are doing. I was born a Cubs fan. Not my fault, shut up about it. I thought we hit the jackpot getting Sorry-ano from them 2 years ago. Ooops. What a sad-sack he has turned out to be.

The Yankees seem to do a very good job of getting talented players who will actually play baseball at their talent level. And keeping them. Then trading their big contract losers to other teams for prospects, who they develop in their own very good farm system.... Look at the big contract guys they do pay for such as CC, Damon, A-Rod. Then look at the guys they pass on. Manny, Bradley, Peavy, Zito..

That's a lot of egos in the clubhouse. But if A-Rod <who had a very good post this year> is the closest thing your team has to a cancer <Cough, Milton Bradley, Cough> It would seem they know what's really going on...

Do need a hard salary cap in MLB though. Small market teams lose their hard-won homegrown guys after just a few years of service till they hit FA..

Say what you want about them buying it.... that team still had to show up and play to win!! They deserved it as much as the next team.

I have loved the Yankees since I was five and now even more everytime I hear someone pissin and moanin about them.:)

I took this from another forum but I like what he is getting at.

give the Yankee's organization ALOT of credit for investing money into players that win. You might call it buying a team. I like to look at it as re-investing fans money in order to win. Let's look at the other teams in MLB and we'll find that Boston, LA, Chicago etc. etc. etc. all have the same kind of available cash, yet choose to pocket it instead of putting a winning team on the field.

First of all, the Yankees do SUCK.

Second of all, its really NOT in MLBs best interest to implement a salary cap. Every time the Yankees to go the WS, more people watch hoping they get their a$$e$ beat. Some hope they win. Either way, they are more viewers. There is more contraversy.

Seriously, who would watch a WS that had the Padres and Royals? Nobody... But I agree, I'd love to see a salary cap. The Orioles might actually have a chance... Or not, we need to get rid of Angelos.

What I'm really mad about is that instant replay needs to be established on a large scale. I'm tired of seeing the Yankees buy players AND umps! Disgraceful...
