just being straightforward, you're right, i don't follow honda. or any other import for that matter. i consider it a compliment. as for whoever said honda's the only company that can get 100hp/L, do the math on ford's ecoboost. 365 divided by 3.5L displacement > 100hp/L. also, with a 1.8L motor, you're talking 180hp. it's a little harder to justify when you're talking displacements over 3L, especially when you don't need 350hp to get groceries. as for vtec in 91, i believe (somebody correct me if i'm wrong) that the mclaren grand prix in the 80's had turbo? a turbo motor in the late 80's is not what a turbo motor is today. the idea of vtec may have been thought up, but it's come a long way since then. as for the motor swaps, i don't follow honda motors. but i'm thinking that making a 3800ish pound car run 12's is just as impressive as making a 2200 pound car run 11's. especially when there's 10 years difference in the technology that was available. the w-body grand prix's are far from new. and like i've touched on before, it's not fair to compare modded cars to stock cars. any motor can be made to make ridiculous horsepower. you could mod either of these two cars to beat the other one, it just depends on what you do. will a turbo civic beat a stock gtp? most likely, depends on how it's built. will a modded gtp beat a stock civic? once again, if it's built right, of course it will. don't forget that these cars are 10 years old, it took GM a supercharger to get 240hp out of a V6. they're now getting over 300hp out of a V6 with a smaller displacement. as for an 8-sec car, you can't even compare those to factory motors, the only thing stock is the block
