I'm looking to get back into a GP and have been looking at GXPs. I've found a '05 with 120k w/navi for $7,995? The price is great for me but the only concern is the milage...Any input would be appreciated

my brother has a gxp at about half of that mileage and was already having engine/ suspension problems. however, in indiana you cant find a gxp for under $12,000 no matter the mileage. id say go for it.

The GXPs are sweet but isn't there something about the transmissions being goofy in those cars? I would get that checked out for sure.

run a carfax 1st. that price is crazy low. might be something in its history. if nothing shows up buy it and put a built trans in it.

the only problem is with carfax wont always reflect accident history.

carfaxs are only sent in when a certain threshhold is met from the insurance company, its more paperwork on their end. check door gaps and see if there is clamp mark on the pinch welds underneath the car. look for wavy ness in the paint or more orange peel in one spot then the others.

i couldnt tell you how many times ive dealt with customers bringing in cars saying " o well the carfax was clean so i didnt check for any damage"

I don't know about carfax now but several years ago I bought a Dodge Ram 3500 off a guy and used carfax and it came back clean. Found out a few months later the truck had been used in commercial use. Complained to Carfax and within 90 days they cut me a check for 20k plus which was what I paid for the truck to begin with. Small price for big peace of mind on alarger purchase where the price doesn't seem right.
