Top speed, governor

Last night I got my 2000 GTP up to 125 mph before it started cutting out. I had two other guys with me and a full tank of gas. do you think it could go faster with less weight? i know there is more there but the governor definitely cut it out. what are some of your top speeds?

More weight won't affect the top speed limiter. I've had my car up to just under 130. Like 128 or so. That was after the tune. Stock limiter was 108.

I hit 120 ONCE. I have no death wish so the most my car regularly see is maybe 80.

my gtp has a stock pcm, ive been to 120 also.i was wondering were the limiter was.my se was at 108 as stated above.

Stock GTP: Limits at 125 i believe

Stock GT/SE with 3.8: Limits at 107 or 108 i believe also

I believe your false on the GT/SE Josh.

I used to have a 2001 GT and i went 107 on the highway going to hudsonville. at 107ish is when it cut out, thats what my HUD was showing.

yes it does now i wanna go get in my car and test it out only problem is that its raining and it would be a little sketchy i hit 100 in the rain once will never do it again

you should all lower your limiters to 80 instead.

I had my GTP at 126 according to HUD last week. Didn't cut out. The limiter must be higher, because I'm using a stock PCM.

My GT gov is at 108
My old GTP was at 126.
Did this one time each. Most of the time its stupid to go that fast on a regular road. You could end up killing yourself or more importantly someone else.

ive only hit 100 with my car twice in 2 years usually the highest is about 75 maybe 80
