The Official what you need and how-to for CTS-V brakes



not sure if this has been covered or not but is there a list of what other brembo calipers are the same as the ctsv ones? if i remember right i think the evo sti 5th gen camaro and a few others all would work also. id like to find out forsure because it would open the option for more places to look for the cheap.
 
evo calipers aren't terrible, but you're better off buying new CTSV calipers for about the same amount of money.

and subaru guys think their brembos are made of actual gold so they all want at least $600+ for a set, used. nope.
 
Evo calipers would be the cheapest being you can get them used for like 300 a pair. Sometimes cheaper.

I know to put them on subarus you need to do a bit of machining to the spindles.

so by this then the evos woukd have more clamping force? and anyone know which master cylinder is the best option i knlw the monte one is smaller but dont know how that effects the braking power
 


umm same place they are on a grandprix............ dont care about the location on the other vehicles just trying to figure out if one vs the other is better for our vehicles.
 
Cts-v or Camaro SS and be done with it. Trust me the claping force is way more then needed with these lol any more and i would be hesitant to use them as far as safety goes lol. And as stated before i think the evo or sti ones will need a bracket or something as im sure their mounting points are not even close to ours.
 


the Subaru you have is about 3420 and a 2007 GP is 3477 the GXP is heavier and Im sure the 97-03 is maybe a little lighter than the 04+ bodystyle. anything less than 200 lbs imo doesn't really mean much. Certainly less than a 100 lbs is nothing to whine about.
 
not saying it weight doesnt matter and if thats a 2011 i cant find anythimg under 3400 id bet if you weighed your car youd be suprised and dissappointed.
