• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I like what you got going on with the blower! Looks Nice! Terrible rust though... Glad your finding it and fixing it.

No problem on the intake, I've been lazy this week and didnt get anything done really. It will be a week or 2 before my downpipe is done anyways so you'll be up and running before I am.

Sc looks great except for that tb lol. Paint it damn it lol.

Don't forget to grab my metal bumper while your at the jy. :)

Yesterday's update...the engine is almost completely back together and the rear strut towers are basically finished minus sealing them up. I need to extend the harness for the IAC, modify the throttle cable bracket, get some heat wrap for the harness near the EGR, make my O2 extension harness, wire the VSS and reverse lights, find a D/S axle, install brake booster, master cylinder, brake line, bleed brakes, fill with fluids, get a new outer tie rod end, repair and modify my Wizaird intake, and then there's the interior...lots of stuff left. Plus paint and such. No pictures of what was accomplished yesterday, but there was a bunch of stuff done. I'll try to get some pics today once things look a bit more cleaned up/sealed.

Another build day down. The IncREDi-hoopdy got a new windshield today, so that was good. The cylinder head got drilled and tapped for the upper engine mount. All of the accessories are installed minus the SC, which should be ready for assembly tomorrow. I started dissecting the trans part of the harness for rewiring. I somehow misplaced my O2 extension harness, so I'll have to make one. Typical stuff I guess.

The not so typical...I was poking around in the trunk and decided I really didn't like the look of my strut towers. My decision was to remove the rear strut, and drill out the spot welds on the plate underneath. Well, I took out the rear seat, removed the rear speaker tray, and embedded the 4" speaker about 1/8" under my left middle finger trying to remove the D/S rear seatbelt. After the nausea went away, I removed the rear strut and drilled out the spot welds.

Mind you, my strut tower was only bubbled...no visible pushing through of the rear strut.

Here is the rear plate removed.

So now my dad is going to plate that side while I disassemble the P/S so we can do the same there. Removing the plate is rather easy and as long as your struts aren't through the trunk, this is how I'd repair them from now on.

So you're telling me I got rid of a fixable impala?

If you were going to do the work yourself then you might have but a shop probably wouldve charged more than its worth.

Ya but the retard that built my house didn't put any electrical plugs in my garage ;) I have lights that's it. I have a treble light hooked up to the light socket and my garage doors are hooked up to the other two lights along with one extension cord going to the garage radio. I'll do it right eventually but its functional. I just need plugs in the wall if you know what i mean.

Yesterday/today's update...still putting things back together. Dash is back in minus some trim, carpet is out and has been cleaned, clutch master cylinder will be here tomorrow, rust should be taken care of tomorrow, suspension will be going back in, exhaust goes on etc. Just buttoning things up now...see how long it takes.

Told you... it takes forever.

I had every part to build up my car and it still took me (wtihout doing engine/trans work) two full weeks of solid nights to gut and rebuild.

Toss us a few pics when you have a chance. We like visual aids. Meanwhile.. it sounds like progress is happening.

Left my carpet hanging outside last night to dry...guess what it's doing right now...

Yesterday's update...more rust repair. I also found out that randomly a water pump gasket can cause a coolant drip that is almost impossible to find without removing most of the accessories from the front of the engine. The new clutch master cylinder arrived is in and clutch is now operational. I also got the brake booster and master cylinder installed. Today, I need to reassemble the engine, get the steering column back in, and hopefully my dad will have the rust repaired and we can get it undercoated so I can install the carpet/rest of interior, fuel pump rewire, flash the tune, and possibly fire it up for the first time since the build started. Once undercoating is dry tomorrow, I can reinstall the suspension, fill the trans, install the exhaust, and initial road test.
