• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Swaping engine and trans from top ( first timer)

i dont know whats going on then dead wires dont spark or make it crank over. only way is if you had power to the cable still, going on or off it will spark and if you tag the little stud it will crank.

Is this what you meant by smaller stud making contact with the positive wires?

the black cable is th emain ground off the battery, your gonna melt the car down, take the black one off put it on the tranny bolt.

your missing the large eyelet thin wire to the large stud too.

im telling you that black cable is the neg cable take it off the starter and put it on the tranny already.

see pic i posted, it shows the colors of the other wire that goes on the stud, all black wires are grounds, end of story there, you on board?

The black cable on the starter is about six inches long it would be impossible for it to reach the trans the cable for the little stud stems from the same place

it dont belong there, im telling you. trace it back, its going to the battery. go back and look at the diagram and other pics posted, you dont see a black cable on the starter ever. just red and orange grey and the little purple one.

and the ground is only 6 inches from the starter stud.

Factory harness battery to starter, postitive on battery goes to positive on starter, goes no where else
Neg from battery goes to transmission bolt, NO WHERE ELSE.

There are two bolts attached to trans with black cables. One holds the starter from behind and the other bolt is directly behind air pump. Do I put this one behind the pump or on the bolt connecting starter to trans behind starter?

pics of it all, your done went and f ed up big time now. this aint rocket science

and theres two bolts that hold the starter on, thats it, no bolts behind it.

all black loose wires go on the tranny stud on that one bolt.
