Subway's GT: Time to close my legs, it smells everywhere

Re: Subway's GT: Maintenance

I'll get a head on shot later today if it's not raining. I got a gloss black inlay. Really makes it look sharp.

Re: Subway's GT: Maintenance

I really love the inlays, they tie the whole car together. Do you have one on the rear too?

Yeah I've got a rear one, but didn't get reflective, so it looks pretty dull. I'm gonna be repainting that bottom grey part and getting a brighter one later on.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In

So there it all is (minus the TB and HB, they're in the garage).

Before:

After:

LIM has no pitting, so that's a good thing:

Since I won't be top swapping for a long time, I will have plenty of time to take my time cleaning everything to make it near perfect. And no, I will not be porting or anything. The S/C came with a 3.4 on it and since I'm not going to be getting an IC, I will need to find a 3.8 pulley. But otherwise it's all there, just needs cleaning. Thanks KaiserPontiac !!

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In

I'm excited to see my parts be more than shelf-warmers, lol.

Hahaha, I'm hoping to have it all on the car before Michigan, but we'll what happens. All I can is that it will be done before college starts in September xD. But for now, it's clean clean clean lol.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In

you got the nut for the tensioner? goes on the long stud thats in the head there. and i dotn see a idler stand for the sc.

those valves need to be lapped for sure, nice move on the spring compressor too. i like those, makes life easy.

Re: Subway's GT: Top Swap Parts Are In

I'm with Scott...didn't see the Sc idler stand or the specific bolts that go with it. They are a slightly different thread like 1.25 vs 1.50. Personally........... I'd drop those heads off to the machine shop, have them tanked, fluxed, painted and assembled with a valve job. If you wanted to plan ahead, have the seats machined to 1.800 so that you had the correct pressures on with aftermarket springs.

There's a bag of bolts for the S/C and tensioners, but I haven't opened and looked at it at all. Yes, I still need that one pulley stand and that's it. Which I'll most likely get at the junkyard or online.

Valve spring compressor is Josh's lol, he let me borrow it.
