SS M90 Question...

Bedwards

New member
Hey guys, I'll be finishing up my SS M90 install tonight. Just a quick question... My Intense PCM won't be here for about 2 days, so can I safely start and run my car with the stock GT PCM to make sure everything works correctly? What about if I just drove it very carefully, and limp it around until my new PCM gets here? I have a scan gauge as well... Thanks guys.

And you won't have that nice thing called BOOST PARAMETERS or tables in the PCM either with your GT one.

I finished installing the kit. It started great, but was running extremely rough. My car was literally shaking. I used my scan gauge, and found 2 codes. P0205 and P0300. I fixed P0205 quite easily, as it was just my injector connecter coming loose. However, I still got a flashing engine light, and P0300. When I went to start it for the third time, it wouldn't start. It just cranks... What is going on?

P.S. I have an Intense Racing PCM, and I have been unable to try and do the CASE relearn yet... If that makes a difference?

Please help!

Check your plug wires, make sure they are going to the correct cylinder. Flashing SES is a bad misfire. P0300 is engine misfire code.

The cylinder numbers are:
Rear
246
135
Front

I let the car sit about 20 minutes and tried again. It took about 7-8 seconds of continuous cranking and it started up fine. Everytime I have shut it off, it will start right back up for me, which is good. However, I'm still getting a rough idle. I also took it for the first drive... In first gear, no problems, it accelerated well. However when I tried to give it gas, it literally wouldn't move. It was missing BAD. The SES was not flashing, but it did not want to go. My buddy driving behind me said I had black smoke coming from my exhaust. I also have a coolant leak, so I'll be replacing my coolant elbows tomorrow. If you guys can help me out, I would really appreciate it. I don't want to take this to a mechanic. :(

You didn't replace the coolant elbows already? That should've been part of the swap. Sounds like a misfire, you did replace the plugs right?

I totally forgot to replace the coolant elbows, that's all. I replaced the spark plugs, yes. I need to figure this out! :(

Hmmm, and you said it's tuned right? Other than a bad tune, I'm not too sure, you should take a video. Mine had a REAL bad vaccum leak after the topswap that was making the idle horrible, have you checked the lines?

I got an Intense top-swap tune. I'm going to check all the vacuum lines today. I'll take a video as well.

Intesne is decent so you should be fine, 99prix has been running their topswap tune for awhile. Yeah I'd check the vac lines and if that's not it post a video.
