• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

As for the VS cam I have not really gone into boost yet. I won't until I have at least 500 miles on it.

just so you know, its go or blow with these engines, theres nothing to break in. driving it harder will make the rings seat better too.

no about of driving it softly now will affect its longevity.

Uno99,

Congratulation on your son and being able to rebuild the engine. 2 questions about your rebuild. Did you have a manual pressure gauge to read the oil pressure, and if you did what was the pressure. And any associated DTC with the XP cam?
BTW - Engine and car looking very good!!!

Thx Flashman I only went with the VS seeing how this is my DD so no codes.

No oil pressure gauge either. I just made sure to lube up the new oil pump real well with assembly lube and spin it and add more lube.

Then on startup I pulled the fuel pressure relay and cranked it over for 10-15 seconds. Then put the fuse back in and she fired right up. It went really well.

I have not even messed with the cruise timing yet and get 17-18 city and 21-23 hwy. I have a ton of room to add more cruise timing in my tune I just have not had time to mess with it. But latley its been worse now that I tossed on the 3.4mps its a great daily stop light to stop light cam.

Sounds like your having fun after all that hard work...Thanks for the details and pictures... really enjoyed seeing your project come together.

No prob. Do you have a link for your build/swap? if not get one started man.

Block is getting bored then balancing of the internal, cylinder heads are in progress, cracks pinned, valve seats installed. Planning to start one when everything gets back from the machine shop. Lots of parts are waiting to come together...

Just turned 4000 miles on it still running good. Excited for spring to dial in the tune and add the cat-back and toss on the 18's Also picked a junkyard tranny to start a build on cause you now the stocker aint gonna last.

^^^ Is yours painted or the black valve cover with the decals? The used set of heads i got during my rebuild came with the black ones i just hand painted them.

ok, sorry about that last post. I'm pretty new here and didn't see all three pages before I asked how it all went.
