so who here has beaten cobalts?

IF you read it i did say IMO. I like the GP over Slowbalts, if i want a turbo 4 banger ill get a subie. Dont get me wrong i respect the Slowbalts they are cool cars and if modded right could reach i believe 180+ MPH? Either way i like the GPs more, i dont know everything about em but i do know enough to like em more the the SS and why would i want a turbo 4 banger when i can get a S/C V6? Also IMO The cobalt is very light so all that boost helps it a lot, and you would not expect the way more heavier GP to haul ass. Again i dont hate the cobalt, i would take a Cobalt over a Slowstang but i like the GP more. You can say whatever you want about what the Cobalt has, there are people that know all about the GP that can really say the GP is as great or better than the Cobalt

I would love to have a turbo v6 but my comment was in response to sf9777's comment on why would i want a turbo 4 when i can have a sc v6

You know nothing :D get that damn thing running already lol

i never gave the guy my address to send the valve covers to, and my inbox was full lol. minor setback. but it should be soon, and as a bonus, i actually have my license to take it for tuning now lol.

I'll help you out with anything if you need it. I wanna see this thing when it's done. Do you have a wb?

nah, there's a narrowband sensor in it. once i get a base tune in it to where i can drive it and put some miles on it i'll start saving for a tuner and really get it dialed in. the best question is, do i tow it to PRJ or ZZP?

so you're telling me that a motor that started life as a V8 in the 1950's, a completely cast iron, OHV, 2 valve per cylinder, and is now discontinued is a "better" motor than an all aluminun, forged internal, DOHC, 4 valve, boosted 4 cylinder, complete with such modern ideas as cam phasing on both cams and spark-ignited direct injection, that also makes 20 more horsepower and gets better gas mileage? on what grounds?

all new engine, getrag built transmission, software advanced enough to phase cams quick enough to keep boost between shifts, runs faster around a road coarse than an Evo X... sure sounds like a piece of sh!t to me.

It really does sound like poo though.

It really doesn't.

I like the groggy sound out a turblowbalt.

Better than any 3800 by far.

And yes i said it the GP does have a low rumble muscle car sound in a 4 door body. Just saying GP>Cobalts

You're huffin' as much as white SE guy talking about the Mini up there. No GP really rumbles. If you want rumble, you could have sat in the car that's in my signature...with the idle set @ six and a quarter and poly mounts all around it. With no balance shaft. My Cobalt was also probably worlds SAFER than my Grand Prix is, in fact...it saved my life. I'm sure I would have been beat to a pulp in the Grand Prix if I would have smacked the side of a Silverado @ 55mph. My Cobalt 4 door also had plenty of room, the seats both folded down to create massive amounts of space for dead hookers, I even had two L67's in the back of my Cobalt at one time...do that in a Grand Prix. Also can't beat the mileage, I averaged 40+ in my N/A 'Balt. I'd give up both of my Grand Prix's to have it back because not only was the MPG's a solid standpoint...but it didn't have window regulator issues, blend doors that failed, intake manifolds that warped, intake gaskets that leaked, vacuum leaks all the time, transmissions that fail, sway bars that crack, mounts that burst whenever they feel like it, interior made from LEGO's and pillows from Walmart...need me to go on? I think you get the picture.

Too add, the LSJ/LNF have quite the aftermarket...in fact ZZP even put their time TOWARDS the Cobalt market and took their focus off of the 3800, so what does that tell you?

And, a showdown in an LS4 car vs. a SS/TC Cobalt is laughable. SS/TC Cobalt's can dip even into the mid 13's bone stock...I've seen 13.99999999999999999 out of an LS4 car and the conditions were perfect. Hell, most bolt-on LS4 cars are seen running low to 14 flat 1/4's.

I've owned an L61 and an LD9. GM 4 bangers and the F23 are a combination from hell. Power aside, I wonder how much better the Cobalt SS powertrain is for daily driving.
