so who here has beaten cobalts?

the redheaded step child SS with the 2.4 came in an automatic. not that that car should have been considered an SS.

I will draw the line here and just say in general both cars a great cars and pretty quick for their class. i forget that anything can happen when a car is modded, stock vs stock is what i really would compare and and ya the cobalt can win. When modded anything goes, i would like to get a cobalt since my bro just told me how great the cobalt is but there is not Automatic out there is there?

EDIT: You said a mouth full Stealthee, ill shut it before i make and even bigger fool of me self.

You can get an automatic balt.

Just find a 2.4.

Buy ZZP's turbo kit.

The transmission can take it.

Looks like I popped back in time for a good thread relevant to my interests. Owned 2 cobalts and a GP, had a base sedan Balt, a modded TC Balt that made 300 whp 360 tq on very minor mods and a tune, and a sedan gt gp. Grand prix was a good dd but the cobalt was a lot more fun to drive. Not only quick in a straight line, but they handle fantastically.

^^ i might be wrong here, but im pretty sure every set of headers available for w-bodies come with their own downpipe.

Thanks for the info, but i doubt having money aside to but a turbo kit but ive heard the kit can make the 2.4 a easy high 13 sec car, is true? Either way ill look into it, it maybe very cheap to buy im guessing the car that is.

EDIT: i found that the 2.4l SS can do 0-60 in 7.1 1/4 mile in 15.6, but its the manual. What would the Automatic do it in? Stock

Are you guys ****ing retarded? nothing replaceds a DP its kind of a necessary thing to carry your exhaust from the headers down the back of the engine to your cat, if you so choose to have one, and out.

Long tube headers = no need for a downpipe.

Really???
Are you ****ing rearded?? You think you have to sit here and explain what a ****ing downpipe is, really?
Come on ya noob. Go get a reading mod before trying to teach people about there exhaust.

High 13's?

ZZP was cutting into the 11's on E85 I'm pretty sure.

And quit with the edit ricer math crap...I ran a 16 flat in my base Cobalt...with an auto. A 5spd car with .2 liters more displacement and most likely better tires and upgraded suspension shouldn't have any issue being faster than a 15.6...but meh, whatevs.

It was just seats and the badge. Knew a kid with a yellow one and paid the price for the badge and seats

And it had the suspension, bodykit, brakes, catback...it is basically the SS/SC without the blower and the boost gauge and the cool little SS gauge cluster.

I wonder why they didnt offer the sc in the auto? Someone earlier in the thread said the trans could handle it...

Well i look into it, Also did search for the 2.4 and only found one within 400miles of where i live and ya i think it might be gone by the time i have money to buy it. Either way thanks for the info that opens up another option when i go looking for a car for myself.

I raced my buddies ss/sc on the track here after my topswap. He couldnt get traction he says. I got about a 1/2 second better than him while trapping at least 3mph faster if i remember correctly.

Cobalt + wheel hop = true story.

Ingalls TD, Upgraded Axles, ZZP Solid Upper Left Mount, and Flipped Lower Mounts kill most of it.
