RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" Less Slow Now

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" Its slow

Alright well I guess I wont do that method anymore, only reason I did it was because I saw it as a method on many forums.

I was just testing so I didn't mask anything off and made sure to not get crap on the trim.

Also for taking pads off is it just getting one spot off and then carefully pulling it off?

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" Its slow

Just knock off most of the crap before you spray it on.

Or, attempt to "clean" it as well as possible.

Out of all places you chose the smallest area as your test spot lol. But it looks like it's doing the job. My brothers car has a sunroof as well and I use 3" pads in that area when I work on his.

Tape of any trim to avoid getting any compound or polish residue on it. Or else you will be fighting getting it off. It takes a little longer to prep but worth it in the long run.

When you take off the pads, work the pad loose on one area enough to get your 4 fingers under it an gently pull it off.

Yeah I know on the small area haha, it was one of the spots not covered in dirt that had scratches and some nasty haze I could test on. I tried the spoiler and it's just to bad and I didnt notice a difference so i tried the small spot to make sure i was doing it right.

Changing velcro pads is my least fav part of buffing. Glad to see some shiny action getting started! Always clean good first. And yeah I probably would not have begun by experimenting on the roof but you can tell it sure needs it. Country life, wha'cha gonna do?

now try the yellow ... lol

Yellows meant for heavily oxidized paint. Orange is the go to color. Not much that orange can't get out with the right user and decent product. Key is take the least aggressive method and remove the least amount of clear coat. Test spots are key!!!

It was fairly easy, technique could use some refinement but I'll take the results i got.

Couldn't have said it any better.

With practice you will get down. Black will own you when it comes to maintaining the paint to be swirl and defect free.

Well yours are probably all rusted on your cars no? :P

The green car has more rust than 75% of the cars in Michigan.

If the GXP has rust, I'd be pissed if I found some...car has like 60k on it and its never seen snow in its life.

I'd bet there's some on the core support. They all have them there

I've seen Florida w bodies from the late nineties that literally looked brand new. Exhaust even looked shiny still.
