RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" Less Slow Now

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" Its slow

I always use a 7mm wrench. But maybe get a another at a JY? Good job on the W/P.

And what happened to the other thermostat housing bolt? Did you cross thread it?

Yep, I bent the bolt and wrecked the threads so I tapped it and put another bolt in. I have a stock bolt and a new LIM to go in but I dont trust taking it out that I'll get it tight again.

I see. The same bolt you broke, mine will go in cross threaded and then straighten itself out. It's scary because I don't know if it will tighten or just sit there spinning.

lol ... i've just been holding out for better weather. i don't have a garage or a good place to get out of the sun. i've got tonnes of scratches , scuffs and scrapes , so i figured i'd need to go strait for the aggressive yellow for the compound. then go green for the polish to get the yellow swirls out , then go blue for the nu finish. i just bought the cheapy turtle wax compound and polish since i don't know what i'm doin anyway. never used a DA polisher before.
i bought one of those nano skin spounges instead of a claybar

I bought one for 2 bucks off a guy on here, but i didnt need it anyway because the lim I got had the tstat housing on it with the bolts and a crusty tstat, oh well lol.

Subwayguy, im not familiar with the name. Did you get a name change or something?

Since your car is listed as a 2002, that means it was out in 01 so I would change the date of that bleeder screw's birth lol

Sent from my LG G3

Also protip, after washing the pad off. When you stick it on the DA to spin it dry make sure its not aimed at you. My shorts are very wet lol

Pro tip. This is not good for the pads. The added weight of the water will stress the velcro backing when spinning freely. It's also not good for the machine since the machine is not balanced for that added weight while spinning freely.

You should pick up some smaller pads for those areas.

Are you doing this with the sunroof open? Why not just tape off the trim.
