RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" Less Slow Now

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (NOW WITH LESS BROKEN THANGS)

Right on Scott, i saw a guy on youtube do one with a big pipe fitting and jesus he went HAM on that thing www.youtube.com/watch?v=H97Vh6woJ68&ved=0CB8QtwIwAA&usg=AFQjCNFBzkZcSz76qD8a5xbm1N-4SykdCg

Navy, i need to do a pan drop fluids looking a little sad probably after the meet i will. Was going to use a dex/merc fluid and not dex vi because of my fear of it being not as thick as what i have and possibly causing issues (as per what dave at TEP advised me might happen) Last pan drop i used autozone branded dex/merc and its been fine I'll probably get valvoline next time.

And no wayy do you wanna drive slowkar haha so dirty.

Also i think i fixed part of my clunk sway bar links were a little loose so i tightened them up yesterday and some of the clunk went away but i think the bushings need replaced they don't look so good.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (NOW WITH LESS BROKEN THANGS)

I wonder if that sway is busted inside the bushing, rust coming out there. Still tubular or solid now?

That axle seal looks like the perfect place to lay a square of 2x4 flat. Then drive in with hammer, tilting 2x4 to guide seal. I'd use my dead blow to drive the 2x4.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

See idk how good that will work, my grandpa said the same thing. The seal is actually raised in the center and i was afraid it would damage it or something like that

No idea if its busted, its the stock pathetic hollow bar.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Well found possible things that can work to smack the seal on some plastic shop vac thing which probably will break. Some big ass square tubing and a some metal dome cover for like a trailer axle or something

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Ended up using a 1x1 stick of wood and pound all around making sure its going in straight as possible. Now to button it up and see if this worked lol

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

good idea, as room is not so free in there.

when i did the front and rear crank seals they needed to be hit pretty hard to get in. at least with the cover off you can see the back side of the seal and if it kinked the rim or not.

Its leaking between the green ring the the other bit, probably hurt it installing it.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Ahh that sucks. Guess I'll put a bead of rtv around the metal before I install mine and hope for the best

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Its leaking from the inside and where the green ring goes into the other ring with the holes so i probably damaged it when i put it in.

Shop can deal with it tomorrow.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Oh I see, I remember those seals are a bit more complicated. Hmm, guess I should find the right tool to drive it in.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

iirc there was a few threads where new seals leaked. some brands dont work well. cant recall if it was the pass side or d/s that was the issue.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Is it actually dripping on the ground??

And they have a spring on the side of the seal that you should put grease on, so it doesnt pop off during install.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

I seen them too, it was the passanger side. This an a new OEM delco seal.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

It drips down the diff on the power steering lines and the underside of my car is covered in atf. I made sure i lubed it good both axle and seal so it wouldn't go in try. Only thing I can think is user error.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Fire is too good for it, ghost ride this ***** off a cliff.
