RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" Less Slow Now

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

I guess I should have clarified, all the HD diffs are 3.29, geez.

I know I was asking a bunch of questions about this in my thread, but I was never really answered. You say that the drive/driven gears are responsible for FDR. How do you explain;

97-03 Grand Prix natural 3800s also use a 3.29 differential and 35/35 gears
04-08 Grand Prix natural 3800s use a 3.05 differential and 35/35 gears

I actually didn't know this till a few months back, i knew they were 3.05 i just assumed it was another different drive/driven setup

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

I'm saying the HD diffs are 3.29s and that the driven gears are what make them 2.93s on the supercharged engines, since he was alluding to them being different from 3.29. I never mentioned 04-08 Grand Prix, let alone the naturally aspirated ones since they don't have the HD diff. I would think the 04+ N\A GPs had a different differential...

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

I knew what you meant boobs lol. I was used to the diff's being different getting a different ratio, but the driven gears have an effect too.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (STUFF KEEPS BREAKING)

Cars finally not leaking fluid from the axle seal. Found ANOTHER shop willing to fix the problem and not just tell me to pay him more money for him to look at it again so after I wasted 130 bucks on a guy to replace the seal and bushing on the diff cover. THIS NEW PLACE FIXED IT

They replaced the seal and it leaked for them, so they took measurements of the axle and compared it to that of a OEM axle and found the reman one slightly larger which was backwards of what we were all thinking. So then they took a scotch brite pad and where the seal rides on the axle and they used that on that area slapped a new seal on and boom it stopped leaking. Got it done for 133 bucks and he warrantied it for 2 years and did a multipoint inspection which said I should replace my air filter lol and some other stuff i already knew like the leaky oil pan and some other stuff.

I'm such a happy camper right now. Plus I found a great local shop to take my car if I ever need it.

OH NAVY, think you'll come to the meet in Royal Oak?

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (FIXED FOR NOW)

That's kinda how we are as a shop, we have done stuff like that.

I was thinking of going, at least my car has some stuff different from stock this year

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (FIXED FOR NOW)

Just have to get an alignment tomorrow, and spend all day detailing it and I should be all ready for the meet and the 100% chance of rain friday lol.

You should I'd love to meet ya. Plus you can meet CaptnBreakAlot and a bunch of others.

Every shop I've worked at was this way too, so to me, this is normal and what I expect from a shop. Too bad my expectations are way to hi.

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (FIXED FOR NOW)

Is it at the same location as last year? This is like the busiest weekend in a long time, of course it's on the meet day. I'll try to be there at some point of the day. They're saying some AM showers possible

Re: RussDinoGuy's 02 GT "Slowkar" (FIXED FOR NOW)
