smash the brakes to hold the car still. push the gas until about 2000-2500 rpm, right before the car moves even with the brakes.

let off the brakes, easy roll into the throttle until around 25ish mph. then mash the gas.

if you arent squeaking the tires you didnt try hard enough. if you are spinning the tires you tried too hard.

The reason i told him to put it in 1 was to skip all this downshifting BS. hold it in 1, on the 3rd beep smash the gas and move the selector to D. Done right and at the right speed this will make you haul. probably put a car on a stage 3 ion within a second doing this (he later caught up).

And if you want to go from a dig, you should get some practice. but that entails beating on your tranny more so....

I found that the best thing for a launch is to install slicks...place the transmission in "N" rev it to about 3500k and drop it in drive for maximum destruction.

One other tip.

Unplug both your front wheel speed harnesses. This keeps the pcm from seeing wheel spin, which allows you full power w/o torque management based on abuse etc
