Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Finished!

I did but I think I have an easier way to do it. L67 or L32.

Ohh lala must share if it works haha. I'm sure machine gun squid can use it too. I seen his thread about his ltft s but Idk if it's from the breather or not.

Well basically I think I will attempt a setup like a SBC uses.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Finished!

If you are shooting to be as low as I was, you need a full set of spacers, I never investigated how much hood clearance that I had after adding the spacers.

just cut the hood, no one will notice....but seriously, add the spacers, go to walmart, buy play-doh, make tiny towers of clay on the supercharger (about the height of how much you will add with the intercooler, close the hood, see how much clearance you have.

You might be able to mod the hood beams underneath for an extra 1/2" if you need it.

That's also what I was thinking last night, was to cut up the hood. N I seen before where someone said buy some clay n trace where I'd need the clearance. Like you said, no one would ever see it. And I seen where you shimmed your hood up in the rear before. I've been thinking to just use it and buy the other things as I go n not be in a rush. As long as it's on by summer I'll be happy.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Finished!

well if you aren't going to run a hood I'll take it off your hands :D

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Finished!

Ok lets talk serious, the hood looks kick a$$ on your car, and cutting the hood would be a task. And I am almost positive you dont want to risk scratching and denting up the new intercooler. With that being said, I mean, I could take that intercooler off your hands ;) This seems the most logical way out, right? hahahaha

Haha well see. I'm going to run cradle spacers n a full stack of vinnie spacers most likely. If it needs to be raised up a little higher on the coils then that's what it'll be. Well wait n see by spring/summer..

Well ill be ordering my control arms this upcoming week and then I'll just need a new front sway bar.

also got bored n did a little walk around the car with my go pro. Still waiting on my suction cup mount for it.

n that damn annoying belt squeak is back. I had it last winter too n replaced both belts not even a year ago. I think it's just from washing it n water getting in there.

Haha might as well be, it plows snow. Maybe in the future, I'd have to experiment more with vht first though.

I wouldn't use vht because people say it comes out like a purple color, use rustoleum. But haha it looks good though!

You know if you lower it enough you wont need spacers or short dbs :)

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Finished!

Can anyone tell me if I will definitely need alternator relocation brackets for a fsic install. 04+ obviously, or if need be can I just cut the cores connection spot shorter to where I can place a 90* elbow?

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Finished!

I'm not sure I'd have to look at it some more
