I think my biggest issue with consoles is that they are made for the masses. They are designed to be 'everything you could ask for' but end up as 'a bunch of **** you don't like or want, but get stuck with'

hmm... Asrock extreme 3 z77, i5 3570k, 16g ddr3 2133, only thing needing upgrade is my gcard that currently runs every game i play at max settings with 150+ fps all at the same time.yes you do. if you want to continue to run new games at the highest settings you need to continue to upgrade
too bad you have to upgrade the specs every year to run games at high settings.
ill pass on the gaming pc, yes they can be upgraded to run better graphics down the line blah blah blah, i dont want to sit at my desk, dont want to use a keyboard to game, and i want to KNOW every game i buy will work when i get it home
