Post Whoring - 5.5.1 - We have a turd in the punch bowl

I'm getting ahead of myself...

Eric, what do you play?

I play srv on a fender fat strat made in Mexico back in 2001 and the really weird part is that I have a Floyd rose 2 with a locking head and 4 pickups onit. The strings I use are 13 because they just sound so dam good. What's funny is I have looked for my exact guitar and nobody has it but I get offers on selling it all the time.

You can technically consider a hunbucker 2 pickups, but its actually just one. So for all intents and purposes, you have 3 pickups. sorry, lol... That Floyd Rose is nice, and most likely added on. Very few manufacturers will put a Floyd Rose on their guitar, when they have their own tremolo bridge.

(sorry about the fuzzy pic, lol)
My current player is an Epiphone Firebird, I originally bought it for my wife, and then she wanted me to build her one. Lol but it's got some decent tone, and that finish is something I would never be able to replicate... I suck at painting. lol

Those dual Seymour Duncans sound majestic, though...

The fender Jaguar's humbuckers can be used as single coil pickups, they have switches that make it so you can use just one side of the pickup, or so that's how I understand it.

Eric's Strat doesn't have the Jaguar switch, at least not in the normal place... I figured since Strats don't usually come from the factory with Floyd Rose Tremolos... But it could very well be a custom order Strat, which means its worth more than any offer made to you so far, Eric. lol

Jaguars were the predecessor to the Stratocaster. They have two single coils that can be switched together to act like a humbucker, which was later replicated in the Stratocaster and it's 5 position switch, allowing all 3 single coil pickups to act like humbuckers with their adjacent counterparts or alone as a single coil.

No that Floyd rose was on there from day one my dad bought that guitar for me. I have all the documents for it some were. I try to keep it nice

Custom is still simply custom, and more expensive than a regular production model. It only becomes really "custom" when everything is customized, like the finish, body shape/design/material, fretboard and inlay design, etc... Still, hold on to that guitar. Your dad had to send the factory a request for a one-off guitar, not just walk into a store and pick it off the shelf.

uhhh he did walk in a store and bought it off the shelf. Not sure when or why it was customed but as you see in that first pic that is how it was bought the ONLY and i mean only thing that is not factory is the black bar i lost the chrome one. Im not counting strings because they can be changed anytime. the weird part is it only cost 1,200 bucks new and when i took it in to get new strings they were wanting to keep it away from me. And i was pissed off about that then they did the restringing in 1 hr flat thanks guitar center (aholes).

I would expect to pay about $600 for a simple, run of the mill black Stratocaster, brand new. Hell, my Firebird cost me $800 new... $1,200 is quite a bit for a Strat, even a legitimate Fender. It had to have been a custom order... I'm thinking that the original purchaser backed out on it after being built. The guitar shop that it was ordered through gets stuck with it, tries to get at least something back from it.That store got a lucky break when your dad bought it. lol Most customs don't sell if the original order falls through tho... some people have a weird taste in color choices. The tremolo bar will wear out eventually, just like any moving part. No biggie. The strings are meant to be replaced, obviously.

I have never taken any guitar to any shop, outside of ordering a custom fit case. I learned to change the strings before I learned how to play, my instructor made it a point. My first guitar was a Texarkana dreadnought, scratched all to sh!t but that thing could take one hell of a beating. lol

113 aint that bad come on now he is in the desert, 113 in IL I would die, 92 today and yesterday, yesterday was fcking humid

113 is hot, but its a different kind of hot than 92 and humid as fvck like it was here today. A desert dweller would beg to go back to the desert after dealing with this humidity sh!t
