phil's build thread... back from the dead yet again

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

2 tie rod ends, and the 2 lines. well its 2 more if you think about it, the lock nuts on the tie rods. so 19 bolts.

and the sway bar, its a few more than that, thats another 6 bolts.

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

well that's 50% better than 300 lol. didn't get to it tonight. had some other stuff come up

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

mine hasn't been out of the barn since the end of july lol. once i get the steering rack fixed, i have to figure out the misfires. seeing as the rails and injectors have been sitting for probably 2 years, i'm gonna start there lol. plugs are new, wires have 20k-ish. i used the coil packs off the old motor for some reason... stripped mounting screws come to mind but idk. maybe it'll go away with a tune and some oxygen sensors

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

pull a vacuum line with it running and stick the vacuum line in the bottle of seafoam and rev it by hand and let it suck up the whole bottle then hurry and shut the motor off and let it sit for 5-10 min then fire it up and it'll smoke like hell but it'll clean it out really good.

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

i did the seafoam, i just pulled the brake booster hose and dumped it in there, follow the directions on the can, you'll be fine.

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

fixed the steering column tonight. it separated at a spot in the interior right above the pedals. talk about awkward positions... my back is gonna hurt tomorrow morning. but it's all back together and sitting on a battery charger. i'll get to the seafoam tomorrow night after work and then it should be ready to make it's first venture out of the barn in 3 months.

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

phil if you need coils i have some if that is what's causing your misfires.

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

that's what i'm leaning towards... i have the ones that came off the car originally, but thanks man. i would go out and work on it but the open headers piss off the neighbors... and the rest of the street. i'll probably just switch them out sunday and see if that helps

I figured out whats up with mine... if I fix mine first you have to give me some free fries from bk when I drive it through while your working

Re: phil's build thread... unforseen issues

so i never did a CASE relearn when i swapped out the pcm... could this be causing problems?
